US Vogue December 2018 : Emily Blunt by Annie Leibovitz

I’m confused... are people complaining about an ‘actress in character’ cover? Because Vogue has done this before - Nicole Kidman/Moulin Rouge and Kirsten Dunst/Marie Antoinette. I enjoy Emily Blunt’s cover immensely! The world is so depressing lately so why not enjoy a whimsical theme? Vogue has done more offensive things in its time XD (like hiding Naomi Campbell in a foldout cover, or justifying a Spice Girls cover, or featuring Melania... in a wedding dress no less XD).

Those shots with Lin-Manuel Miranda are great. The actress in character concept is nothing new and it has been executed better in the past. Dunst posing as Marie Antoinette comes to mind. The cover is very literal and it does look like a EW cover, but it's very festive. Blunt was also overdue for a cover.
