That gown on Vlada is so Oscar-worthy. Loove the hot pink shoes and there are some really interesting pieces, definitely a step in the right direction for Versace.

I agree! Katie Holmes did too, it kind of looks like the Armani Privé gown she wore to the 2007 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

Yes, non? Sort of lighter hue, but I get the same feeling. Overall love this collection!!! I imagine the ad campaign will be glorious. Versace has been taking a great direction lately!

Now that I see the whole collection, I do enjoy some of the fabrics, scissor cuts, and shapes. This collection is very modern in the way that Jil Sander and Calvin Klein are, but still sexy like Versace has traditionally been.

I'm not really seeing the beauty that most people are seeing. It's ok, but it's a little boring to me.

Maybe I am starting to see the "beauty" everyone else is seeing.

Another surprising show from Versace! I like it!
Soemthing new is there but still we can see the body-conscious Versace as well. The few color short dresses with prints on are really impressive to me, though they are more suitable for spring.

I love the darker-hued looks but can't say i care for the gowns though--they seem unflattering. Overall, it's a very easy, simple sexiness.

love the oscar dresses at the end but over all i felt like there were 2 different collections here. not seeing the correlation between the rounded shouldered jackets and sweater dresses in the begining, the sexy monochrom and the funky print dresses in the middle, and stripped down oscar dresses in the end. its not working for me as a collection but i think separately there are some great pieces.

still love donnatella but i think she should work on a stronger fashion vocabulary and a look that is all her own. Not sure a sexed up jill sander or calvin klein is going to work.

b) This collection didn't disappoint me. I'd love it more if I didn't see Fendi first. The last collection I liked was FW 06 I think. This collection has nice fabrics, very sensual, and elegant. As long as they weren't the crapfests that were her collections in 2007 I'm fine.

I could nominate that powder blue dress on Lily for dress of the year, it's so dreamy and quintessentially Versace.

I am torn here. While I appreciate the change in atmosphere, I don't think the collection suited the runway as well as F/W 03 had. The daywear is pretty great, if styled a little blandly. Then she loses me completely with the short printed dresses. But by the finale, I'm loving it a good portion of it again, though I could just be desperate for fierce glamour.

I really just don't know here.... I WANT to love it, but something feels off. The slick black pieces towards the end are super chic, but half of the daywear could have been edited out. Then I mean, NO boots? I'm not even entirely sold on the shoes, though the handbags are extremely good. Pre-Fall was so interesting with the thigh-high leather boots, bleached brows and dark lips; I was really expecting a continuation of that dark, vampy mood. I wanted a couple great showpieces but those printed sacks will not cut it.
