Victoria's Secret models going high fashion!

I really dislike that VS models are in HF now. They are too sweet and glamorous for HF

no offense, Katherine -- but the most successful HF models .. the ones we call Supermodels .. have all been glamourous. Linda, Claudia, Cindy, Naomi, Stephanie, Eva, Gisele, Kate, Christy, etc.

everyone is bored with the bland, child-like, pin-thin, boring high fashion models of late. for every amazing girl like Sasha or Natasha there are a hundred who i'll never remember because they have no impact.

gorgeous, healthy, beautiful, fleshy, women are far more desirable - in my eyes - and i feel like that's the direction the industry is headed, as well.

I think I am one of few people who really doesn't get the VS girls vibe. I am not prejudiced about them I think they are all pretty, not spectacular but pretty. They have beautiful bodies ***Edited *** but it makes me laugh when people say Ale or Miranda are so diverse in HF. Ale's editorias are photoshopped and Miranda - everyone says she has the ability to look different but to me everyone looks different with bleached eyebrows (my friend is a make up artist on set and I have seen people being unrecognizable after she worked on them) or wigs. It's not her ability to look different it's a good make up artist. her poses are the same in each photoshoot, I don't see anything diverse in that.
Still, Miranda is much better in HF than Ale, I just don't get Ale in HF.
I really liked Doutzen's work before VS.

i just don't even understand the notion of what has to be "high fashion". i mean, wasn't Claudia Schiffer high fashion. or Cindy Crawford?!? they're probably the 2 most famous supermodels ever. if they came out today, they'd likely be VS Angels and if they so much as glanced at an Italian VOGUE cover, everyone would come down on them for being too commercial.

people have an image of Ale or Adriana or Miranda or whomever as being light and pretty and that's it. but a model is a model. and if they can pose and emote and wear the clothes, then what the hell is the difference?

Wow I never realized Alessandra's face was so long...it's retouched too much! they only high fashion one I buy (for a valid reason) is Doutzen,miss her HF days! Remember those struts down the runway and the Valentino and Versace ads?! SIGH

Also, Anna single-handedly made Chanel's career and has continued to be one of her greatest supporters. So, Chanel and US Vogue go way back.

I felt it was necessary to brush this thread off and start posting again because going through the September US Vogue thread, you can see mixed emotions about these girls from some of the members, especially Miranda, getting an editorial over their precious HF girls

does anyone else who was actually a fan of the girls of VS before the so called "switch" to HF - miranda, ale, rosie, etc - find it hilarious that people are making comments like "I normally don't like the VS girls, but this shot _____ in ______ is making me start to like her more" like these girls are somehow different than they were before?

they are the same models! just given the opportunity to shine instead of being typecast as the sexygirls all the time. I'm happy for the change overall (for different types of body types being used) I just wish the idea of beauty were more creative for some of the girls.

For example, it seemed so typical to put a girl like rosie in a "jessica-rabbit" getup for LOVE. Crystal Renn seems to always be shot in skimpy little outfits as if to put her weight on display rather than just styling her in interesting and fitting clothes. Like I said, I'm happy the industry is changing, I just hope they are a little more creative with it so it won't just be some trend this season, but by next season it will be back to the way it used to be.

I mean.. CURVY-body is great. But an actress-face is not ok! Someone like Lara Stone is lovely! for VS models; Rosie.. ok! Miranda..sometimes. but not others actressy girls. and yeah whats next Crstal Renn?

When abbey-lee or any other HF model does commercial work like VS they get praised, but when VS models do HF people hate it, very weird. Ale and Miranda have been doing fantastic things for HF, I prefer them better as they have more healthy bodies as opposed to the very skinny HF models.

YES! that is one of the things that makes me so annoyed as well. everyone will be the first to bash the VS girls and then pray that their favorite HF girl will make it into the VSFS!!! come on now
