Vogue España May 2016 : The Victoria's Secret Angels by David Bellemere

It's a nice cover. Nothing too memorable.

Well it looks like a vintage Vogue cover. Very dated. It looks pretty, but dated. Really dated.

I would be honest, when I saw the title I wasn´t expecting much because at the end of the day it´s still Spanish Vogue: it´s not one of the big 4, their covers models are bland, they are one of the most upper duper commercial Vogue in the world and I could almost never associate their magazine and vision as a high fashion international magazine. It does well on native ground but they don´t dare to try or better themselves. Their fashion sense and styling skills are not even worthy of being called ``cheap´´or non-sense and I last cared for this magazine like a decade ago.

Having said all of this, and living in Spain myself and knowing the style or lack of here in the capital in terms of stylists and magazines´vision, I had the same thought as MON: it´s dated. However the second thing that came to my mind, after the dated imagery, when I saw this cover I immediately had this cover in mind: Vogue India April 2010.

and from Spanish Vogue too: Vogue Spain November 2010.

I´m a sucker for models´ group covers and here the poses and background and layout work really well. But I would also be honest on this: I have no idea who those girls are. Sara Sampaio and Jasmine Tookes are the only models I recognize. Couldn´t have they done this cover with BIG names supers? Like Alessandra, Adriana, Candice etc.

So I would give this cover a 7.5/10. They have done great in comparison to the usual c*** they usually come up with.

^As per tFS' Community Rules, could you please provide the source for those covers? TIA!

Must admit that Vogue Spain have absolutely nailed the composition of this cover, and I can only echo everyone else's sentiments on how unexpectedly beautiful it turned out. David Bellemere can indeed take an effortless and serene photo! The girls look fantastic all huddled together but my eyes go straight to Jasmine Tookes.

Crazy to me how much VS has evolved in it's clout and that of all the generations of angels, this is the group that gets a Vogue cover.

imo there´s something off with the composition that I quite don´t like, maybe it´s the space between the O and G?... it´s an ok cover at best.

Wish they wouldn't have used just the new girls. I would have used Adriana, Behati, Candice, Alessandra, Romee, Elsa, and Jasmine.

Why would Adriana,Alessandra and Candice agree to a Multi Cover for Vogue Spain with Romee, Elsa, and Jasmine?

It is 2016. We don't need the new 'Naomi'. This Spanish Vogue cover really shows the lack of diversity and beauty at Victoria's Secret, which really has to be solved.

My attention went to Taylor Hill and of course Jasmine.
It is not a bad photo but David Bellemere could have done much more.

It's a pretty cover but it doesn't excite me. These girls don't embody VS angels like the old ones who have personalities and attitudes.

Nice concept but all these girls don't have VS vibe. They need Magda Frąckowiak, Lily Donaldson or Joan Smalls for this.

Jasmine is by far the stand-out of this cover, and I don't mean in the (obvious, awkward) racial way - she's more striking than the lot.

Exactly and the same could be said of the female models used in editorials in US Vogue: where are the Coco, Raquel, Gemma, Lily of the world? The female models used in US Vogue editorials are just like the models here on this cover for VS: they don´t have the extra `it´ personalities or bodies or the way to transform themselves from mere models to TOP worldwide fashion stars. These girls will fade away in a few years. You all know it.

Never ever a Vogue España thread had so many pages! I don't understand why Victoria's Secret stimulate people this much.

VS generates buzz! I think this cover proves undoubtedly that Romee/Martha/Stella can all leave. They add nothing in my opinion.

Jo is possibly the best new angel in the lineup and she wasn't included...Thank you vogue Spain Anyway Sara, jasmine and Taylor are the only ones who caught my attention here. Im really impressed with Sara who outshines the rest with her sultry and relaxed facial expression. Gorgeous!
