I fear that Paul Pavlovska will be a huge hit too

Exactly my thoughts :D

Paul has Sasha potential
so I'm not yet sure if I like her or hate her, when I first saw Sasha Pivovarova I thought she was ugly so I'll have to wait but I bet Meisel will show me the good sites of Paul :)

Model casting for most shows hasn't been finalized yet, but we hear some opening slots have already been given out:
Separate sources gush that Agyness Deyn, 24, and Suvi Koponen, 19, are getting to open some of the shows that start next week.
But which ones?
You silly girls... we totally can't tell you that.
Yet.
Wink.
(Guesses, anyone?)

^That's great for them, but I was hoping that more of the newer girls would open a lot of the shows.

These's a casting vid of Rad Hourani up on models.com, if anyone is interested :)

But the thing is, the exclusivity buzz is moving over to a lot of other houses such as Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs and Jil Sander who actually do deliver stars consistently.

I agree with the Calvin Klein part.. Karlie, Taryn, Toni.. buzz buzz buzz..

that wasn't how it was the previous seasons though... last season Calvin Klein really delivered

Yay I hope that Paul Pavlovska will hit it big time! She is amazing!

I just find Paul Potato Nose rather average under that crazy hair. And it's not her fault, but the blatant attempt at creating hype (and the fact that it's actually working) really turned me off.

But back on topic...

Douglas Perrett (COACD) picks 10 new faces to watch

ABBEY LEE, Next
"She's not 14 years old," is the first thing Douglas Perrett points out about Abbey. "We're starting to get back into older girls, a really healthy look." Lee is 18 and, like many of this year's hot new faces, hails from Australia. "This is her first New York fashion week, so they're going to be very select about what she's doing. Marc, Proenza, Vera Wang, really only the best shows."

ALI, Elite
Ali has already been working for a short while, but this is the Utah native's first season in New York. "She is the most buzzed about girl," Perrett says. "She will only do Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Rodarte, Proenza, the very best shows. This is just what Elite needs right now after losing Karlie Kloss. She's an athlete with really long legs and clients are just dying over her."

ENIKO, Marilyn
The Daria comparisons have already begun for Eniko, an 18-year-old Norwegian who is hitting New York for the first time this year. "She has those wide set eyes, beautiful skin, and a really amazing walk," Perrett says. "I can see her doing just really select shows this season. She's definitely Calvin Klein material."

GANTZ, One
"There's lots of hype on this one," Perrett says of 15-year-old Gantz. "She's flawless, and she will be a great opener for smaller shows, up-and-coming designers. One has a reputation of having great new girls. She came in the very last minute and you'll be seeing her and her mom backstage at all the shows!"

HYUNI, Ford
Seung-hyun Kang (who goes by her nickname, Hyuni) was the winner of Ford's Supermodels of the World contest a couple of weeks back and has since drummed up some major buzz. "We're seeing a lot more Asian girls in general," Perrett says. "She's from Korea and has an amazing walk, amazing legs. They usually get a great girl from this contest every other year, and this year was definitely on."

MALIN, Marilyn
"She is another new buzz name right now," Perrett says. "She's the new Hilary Rhoda—she is tall, she has great shoulders, long legs, and that really severe jawbone." Her statuesque good looks make her a prime contender to show up on the runways of Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang, and Calvin Klein.

NATALIE, Elite
"I could definitely see her being the Calvin Klein exclusive this season," Perrett says of the 15-year-old model, who hails from Oregon. "We definitely won't see her on every runway. It will either be very select shows, or probably just the one."

PAUL, Trump
Paul is already on Alexander Wang's radar, and Perrett is guessing she's going to catch the attention of plenty more designers. "She has a really interesting face, boldly styled hair, and the fact that she has a boy's name is really working for her." Expect to see her doing the "cool and quirky" shows like Three As Four, Chris Benz, and of course, Alexander Wang.

SKYE, DNA
The past successes of Gemma Ward and, more recently, Catherine McNeil, has everyone in an uproar over the Aussies. The next hot import is Skye, a 16-year-old who Perrett calls "the new baby at DNA who is really really cute." Expect to see her walking in shows with a slightly younger vibe—including Marc by Marc Jacobs.

TETYANA PISKUN, Next
"She's another example of one of these healthier looking girls," Perrett says of 18-year-old Tetyana Piskun. "She just looks like a woman. She's beautiful." You can expect to see her walking in shows that parallel her sophisticated look—Narciso Rodriguez and Bill Blass among them.

That's really funny how they're all trying to make Eniko and Tetyana "so hype and so new" but where have they all been when these girls started, started right then had hard times to stay in ? I'm really glad for both, they've got real potential but I'd like all these casting directors&co been less talkative about them now, let them make a good new start, a good season then talk again about her and their future. If they want to make us believe they've discovered her it's a bit late :innocent:
I want them to have great season, not pre-season hype then a not-so-good real season.
Then calling Tetyana Piskun healthy is a bit weird... she is Tetyana Piskun and not "the healthy girl around this season". She's a model of her own, stands out by her unique look rather that just fitting a "niche".

I'm more looking forward to seeing what Camille and Michaela Majerska will do. They are the new generation. Nathalie Keyser as well, I like the fact Perrett mentions her but what if she doesn't do CK ? He's already pushing her for a while... I know now she's online 15 today so I understand it was just an introduction but I want a good one and she deserves it...

Gantz has potential as well, I'm sure we'll see her. But another one at One (sorry for that word trick :lol:) is Lyoka. Definitely want to see her now.
I sorta like Paul but I would rather like her as Katya. Again they've built such a hype around a nickname and a hairdo that will bring her up in the spotlights quickly but could turn as less appealing later... She's got a moody face, intriguing eyes (and ears :bunny:) and would have done well (in my opinion) later or soon without any hype.
I'm rooting for Ms. Sasonkina this season. And for Natalia Doronina too, my faves at Women.
Not to mention I want some surprises !!

And what happened to Karlie ? She's no longer with Elite ?

interesting thread.
Some people said that Edita will sweep up the show. As much as I like her, I don't think that will happen without her doing runway in New York, because she does not have a DNA showcard.

^I've heard from a very reliable source that she won't be in NY but will be for sure and for the best in Europe... so in a way yes she's got some big chances to make it but not in NY :flower:
