Who will sweep up at the S/S 2012 shows?

if the newbies dont do well in ny then im sure, in general, they wont do better in europe. bc milan and paris are pretty much all about the established models.

^^^It was Jasmin Tookes. That was a nice surprise. I thought Jourdan Dunn would get it.

1. Erjona Ala
2. Antonia Wesseloh
3. Josefien Rodermans

What's going on with Juliane Gruner? I doubt she will get another Prada exclusive, but she might get a Balenciaga exclusive. If she isn't an exclusive, then her agents made a dumb move by her not walking in New York.

^Her agency is probably keeping her selective. These days that means skipping NYC.

^^ I am not aware the reason for her absence but what exactly could a model of her status have missed in New York this season? A droll payment system? An Altuzarra exclusive?

I'm not understanding what you are saying. What is her status exactly?

^ I mean why do you think was it a dumb move from her agency not to send her to New York for fashion week?

When I read all of your posts it seems more and more to me that shows got more and more random. It's just as horse races... Cologne, you're pretty right from my point of view. Strategies are up to each one controling them (if ever someone really does) and show seasons don't mean as much as it used to when I started getting interested in this. What happens in mags and ads can testify. All seems random at first sight but has deeper roots once you look twice.

I'm loving Bette Franke's comeback this season, she's doing great.

^Pay is only a little part of it. Most of the blue chip shows don't pay, but if a model (well, her agent) keeps her selective and has her only walk those super exclusive, expensive shows, it can lead to a lot of hype, campaigns, and bigger paying jobs.

These days its becoming more of a thing for models to skip new york and just go to europe.

I was trying to say that if she is NOT an exclusive, she should've walked New York. If she is an exclusive, then that's great. I just didn't understand the wording of your previous comment, and now I do :flower:

Nadine Ponce has done very well in London, but isn't receiving much attention; it will be interesting to see how she performs in Milan and Paris.

IKR. So many stunning girls debuting/doing well in London. Marte Mei Van Haaster, Romee Strijd, Caitlin Lomax, Ros Georgiou...

^London is so much more interesting in terms of casting these days. I guess the absence of the big guns is forcing them to look around better. Head over heels with that Marte Mei amazone...

Amanda Ware is doing really well... granted she isn't brand new. but still.
