that fur coat on the wwd cover is probably one of the very few pieces i love in that collection.
soo chic that coat
soo chic that coat
I like this collection - it's very true to Diana Vreeland's 60s, and yet, different. One thing that's probably off-putting to a lot of people is the combination of the 60s cuts and the use of very colorful accessories - in particular the hats.

Dior doesnt excite me anymore..

I don't think it has anything to do with this at all. The accessories don't affect my opinion on the collection ( their could've been dead chickens on their head for all I care, as long as the clothing itself was beautiful ) and the 60's cuts could've been amazing had they been executed correctly. The fabrics used look entirely too bulky, and in my opinion, they don't fit the 60's vibe at all. Think about it - Tippi Hedren, Jackie Kennedy, and even Mrs.Robinson herself..what did they all have in common? 60's cuts that were perfectly tailored, refined, unassumingly sexy, and light ( as opposed to bulky ). Had John editted him self more carefully, it could've worked. Bring the waist line in here, replace a hideous pattern here, take off some embroidery, and ta da! A perfectly respectable collection. Of course, I would've appreciated an altogether different interpretation of the inspiration.
