Christian Dior F/W 08.09 Paris

Mr-Dale
^^ i agree.
i say to myself that i have to like the collection. As i absolutly love the house of Dior.
But this is bad

hm, I don't really like what I've seen so far. but it may be better in whole...

And to add to all this, I understand that I am not supposed to be happy with this and am not supposed to think this is fantastic, but I am afraid that after all these years of loyal fanhood, I have completely lost my sense of objectivity (or is that subjectivity, errr?) towards John and I can't but like what he does....and I hate myself for having reached that point.
I know exactly how you feel. I'm desperately searching for something to latch onto and LOVE in this collection so I can justify my obsession with John. In fact, I feel really guilty for not liking this collection very much...like betraying a best friend.:innocent:

Hopefully John will put on another phenomenal show at his own label...in fact, I'm very optimistic and confident that he will.:D It seems as though as Dior has gotten worse, Galliano has gotten better!...of course, I'm not happy with the state that Dior is in...but I am ecstatic that John Galliano has become amazing again!

I´ve been there too!

I guess that i will never hate a Dior show from John, this time I think it will be about items, certain pieces, probably the ones made with the colours I like and the furry ones, if the music from the show is good it will add to it too, I have a feeling I would have preffer to have seen his pre-fall line on the catwalk better. The problem with this offering is that it looks repetitive, feels like I have seen it far to much and I was expecting something new, more Klimt influences, more expensive looking garments, darker tones, but maybe after watching the show it will grow on me.
I am already eager to see what he has up his sleeve for his own house.

Dale - I totally agree. John is one of those guys you really want to like but this is just gross.

I fully agree, am I allowed to say that I think we need to get a life?

I'm always there to defend John.... I feel respect for him....
but there i cannot do anything..... it's absolutely boring.....
what the joke????

I can see the influence : a rich texas girl met Lady Bunny in the 60s....

No John, it's not possible!!!!!!
enter a rehab, and i'm sure you can do something gorgeous without Robinson.....

This is pathetic. It's like a "worst-of" collection of his recent work. The stiff, overstuffed looking fabrics ruin what could've at least been a decent silhouette in most of these pieces. The ridiculous hair and make-up add nothing to the look as it has in the past. I know John is a genius and he is capable of great work but this is another example of an uninspired and jumbled collection that's tied together by excess.

So glad somebody already mentioned Lady Bunny, that's the first thing that came to mind when I saw this.

Be comercial my friend said Arnault to Galliano and he does this...

Chsstttt... Arnault...

positively vomit-inducing (except the dress with the red and orange stylized circles print)
