F/W 2012 Campaign Wishlist & Model Casting Discussion, Guesses, and Reactions

i think it's safe to say that Aymeline and Kati are this season's campaign queens:king:

^yes
Kati: Chanel (MG), Tom Ford (OG), Nina Ricci (OG), Alexander Wang (OG)
Aymeline: Giorgio Armani (OG), Bottega Veneta (OG), McQ (OG), Donna Karan (OG), Reed Krakoff (OG)

Really happy for Valade and she deserves all that.

add Anja and Karmen to that list

Anja: Quiseppe Zannoti, Kurt Gieger, Chloe, Karl by Karl Lagerfeld, Fendi Fragrance
Karmen: Gucci Pre-Fall, Michael Kors, Salvatore Ferragamo

Anja and Karmen are doing fine so far as well as Suvi but i don't think their bookings are at the same blue chip level as Kati and Aymeline, at least for this season..

Karlina for Akris and Jil Sander has been just

Bette: Jimmy Choo, DsQuared, J.Mendel (OG) and Hermes (OG).
She's doing amazing as well, totally deserving.

Re: Brian Atwood campaign

Candace has one of the best bodies in the biz and she's good on runway, but she is far from a good print model, IMO.

I actually think she is also a very good print model  if you've seen her eds. the ad looks stunning with her

I think she her body looks great in print, which always seems to be the focus of most of her work. I am not saying that her face is usually bad in print, because it isn't (it definitely is here, IMO), but she is not a good face model if you get what I mean? She's pretty one-dimensional.

Like, her body is her money. Face wise, she is pretty average at best. Muse #30 that was dedicated to her is a pretty good example.

The best I've seen her in print though was her main spread by Meisel for Italian Vogue.

Don't get me wrong though, I think she's gorgeous! But I could care less about her print work. She's not really unique/interesting in print, IMO. But it is not always about what the model has, more what she does with it. I think Lily Donaldson is really boring in print, but she definitely has an interesting/fascinating face. Jessica Miller, who is actually more so on the average side IMO, knows her angels and how to model. And she is great in print.

^With the change of designers, I doubt there will be a RTW campaign just like with Dior and Jil Sander. It's a shame though, I really loved Stefano's last collection.

Where is YSL?

I read something about YSL that Hedi doesn't like Stefano, and he's trying to erase everything he left, that's why there is no campaign this season, and about Jil Sander almost the same, but Jil is trying to eliminate Raf Simon's history, but not because she hates him but because all people know Jil because of Raf.

That's really sad, YSL had such a fantastic collection this season, definitely a potential for a good campaign. Can't complain about Dior, though, can't wait for the new era to begin at the house.
