Pirelli Calendar 2008 [No images from the calendar allowed]

Ah no. I dislike Mcneil but I doubt she's stupid enough to pull off a stunt like that at the beginning of her career :P

Let's not speculate too negatively :P
Agreed. :flower: Thank you. McNeil (I don't like her at all though) wouldn't be dumb enough to do something as insane as that.

If I thought a Pirelli calendar without boobs would be disappointing, a Pirelli calendar thread without images is even more so.

You'd think Pirelli would realise that the more people talk about a hard-to-get item, the more people will want to get their hands on it, and the higher the prestige of the whole concept. But if there are no images to whet the appetite, there's not much any of us can say.

The furore over the actual launch will last about three days, given how quickly internet reporting disperses a story around the world and then forsakes it for the next day's news. But a slow build-up to the launch with the occasional image leak would ensure the item stayed at the forefront of people's expectations for several months ahead of the big day. That would means sustained positive interest in the Pirelli name for 2-3 months.

But Pirelli can choose how to handle the PR for their brand-building calendar any way they like. For me, it's a case of 'no images, no interest'.

I always though that the Pirelli calendar was suppose to be... sexy.

Sexy does not equal t*ts and *** all the time. I like this version or Orientalesque sexy. :D

But we get Gemma etc doing the classy version of 'sexy' in countless fashion magazines. I want to see Pirelli do something with these girls that isn't a glossy repetition of something I can see in Paris Vogue. And if the average man was truly into that sort of 'sexy', they'd be buying Vogue for themselves every month.

How is that not sexy?
You seem them in suspenders and Coco is topless in two shots.
What more do people want?! :judge:

Clearly there are two definitions of sexy: There is the high fashion sexy and the men's version of sexy. But if you have a pretty girl showing boobs, you pretty much covered the two.

that's sad that Coco seems to have the sexiest pics on the calendar. I mean it's freaking Coco.

But this magazine is geared toward men and most men do not find that sexy. We have our Vogues, why can't the men have their magazine? If all the Playboy models suddenly posed in Paris Vogues it would be out of place...

This calendar seems to be geared toward people's fetishes. Ropes, latex, and exotic theme...

I thought pics weren't supposed to be posted in this thread??
Yeah, I noticed those post too late (after 10 minutes) so feel free to report :flower:
(I just thought that those are magazine scans, so they have gotten somebody to release them, even exclusive.. so it would be right to post them)

was it ever for the average man anyways? It's never struck me as something amazingly sexy, except for a couple exceptions (like in 2005)... It's supposed to be artistic nude/semi-nude, not a playboy calendar rip-off...

I def. see the fetish element! Super high shoes with ropes, shiny, plastic-y fabrics, the whole Geisha concept.

Considering that the calendar gets reproduced as an annual supplement with high street men's magazines, I'd say it's very much so for the average man, especially when you add in the extensive tabloid newspaper coverage.

Supermodels like Cindy Crawford started posing for Pirelli around the same time that doing Playboy was also a good career move, in order to capture the awareness of that mass market of men. It's only recently that the fashion side of things has started to take over, turning it into yet another outlet for Vogue-style experimentation, ignoring its decades-long heritage of soft erotica.

This calendar is an annual supplement with high street men's magazines? I thought this calendar is famous for its limited availability because it is not sold and is only given as a corporate gift to a restricted number of important Pirelli customers and celebrity VIPs.
