Project Runway Season 10

'Project Runway All Stars' Season 2: Lifetime announces returning designers and celebrity guest judges

Thirteen returning designers are returning to compete on Season 2 of "Project Runway All Stars," premiering Thursday, Oct. 25, Lifetime announced today (Sept. 27).

Joining the new host, supermodel Carolyn Murphy, is an A-list slate of celebrity guest judges, including Katie Holmes, Kylie Minogue, Stacy Keibler, Liv Tyler and Gretchen Mol.

Designers Diane von Furstenberg, Jason Wu, Margherita Missoni, Charlotte Ronson, Rafe Totengco and Elie Tahari will also appear as guest judges.

Here are the competing designers, with short bios to refresh your memory:

Wendy Pepper (Season 1, second runner-up) - A villain to remember on the first-ever season of Project Runway, Wendy made her mark in the workroom and on the Runway with her feminine dresses, structural form-fitting jackets, strong patterns and even stronger personality, beating out Austin Scarlett for the final spot to show at fashion week.

Andrae Gonzalo (Season 2): Best known for his emotional outbursts on his season -- and the subject of Santino's best Tim Gunn impression ("Where's Andrae?!") -- Andrae's designs frequently contrasted elements of poverty and luxury.

Kayne Gillaspie (Season 3): Kayne's pageant sensibilities proved valuable when he won the "Fit for a Queen" challenge and designed an evening gown for Tara Conner, Miss USA 2007 to wear at the Miss Universe Pageant.

Uli Herzner (Season 3, first runner-up): Uli's designs are feminine, flowy and colorful, inspired by the beaches and climate of her hometown Miami.

Suede (Season 5): Known for his confidence, brightly colored hair and speaking about himself in the third person, Suede's dynamic personality and eye-catching style attracted a major following. His designs can be seen on celebrities such as Britney Spears, Brooke Burke, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson and Christina Aguilera.

Althea Harper (Season 6, first runner-up): As stunning as one of her own models, Althea's design aesthetic emphasizes draping, silhouette and tailoring that flatters the curves of a strong woman.

Emilio Sosa (Season 7, first runner-up): With a record-breaking three consecutive challenge wins and more wins in the season than any other designer, Emilio was the favorite to win. But his jaw-dropping defeat to season seven winner Seth Aaron, left him speechless. This year, he was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Musical for The Gershwins' "Porgy and Bess."

Peach Carr (Season 8): A favorite among the designers and fans who enjoyed her refreshingly positive, bubbly personality, her athletic design styles have built a strong following and loyal buyers.

Casanova (Season 8): Chock-full of personality, Casanova was the underdog everyone rooted for and the first Puerto Rican fashion designer to ever participate on "Project Runway."

Ivy Higa (Season 8): Big on attitude, high in self-esteem and full of talent, Ivy's opinionated and headstrong personality was the source of many conflicts during her season.

Anthony Ryan Auld (Season 9): Cancer survivor Anthony's sense of humor and sharp one-liners were memorable. But it was his "unconventional" birdseed dress that made him a fan favorite.

Laura Kathleen (Season 9): A self-proclaimed girly-girl with a sharp tongue and strong personality, Laura's designs are inspired by vintage style, tailoring techniques and the manipulation of fabric.

Joshua McKinley (Season 9, first runner-up): Loud and bold with a no-holds barred opinion on everyone else and their designs, he's ready for another walk down the Runway.

The Season 2 winner will receive $150,000, a sewing and embroidery studio, an all-expenses paid trip around the world to attend fashion weeks in cities such as Paris, London, Milan and Tokyo, a technology suite/office space from HP and Intel, a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine and a position with the publication as Contributing Editor for one year, and the chance to create a collection for Nine West.

Uli needs to win! She should have won both times she was on the show!

If anyone other than Uli wins that season it will be a crime. The cast is really not exciting. But at least it doesn't seem like the show is just an excuse to have a chance to award someone with a win - coughMondocough.

Exactly! That season was so rigged. And you're completely right in saying the contestants seem pretty boring...I mean Suede and Kayne in one show? That's going to be tacky...

wendy, kayne, ivy, and joshua :yuk: all in one season!? NO THANKS!!!

more talent and less tacky and drama next time please.

Anybody seen the designs from the last episode? Dmitriy's look is so gorgeous. Doesn't even look like it belongs on Project Runway. Probably my favorite look of the season. "Avant garde" challenges are really dumb usually because how is anyone going to do that in the 40 minutes they're given, but regardless of the criteria, it was just a stunning piece.

Can't believe Sonja got eliminated. Should've been Christopher or Fabio. Although to be honest, all four made some terrible stuff.

yeah, i couldn't believe sonjia got eliminated also. i didn't care for her avant garde look, but since they were taking previous challenges into account, i think she was more than worthy to be in the final four. to me, her looks were more memorable than fabio's looks (the only one i truly remember and love from fabio was the "real women" challenge, the one he won).

my favorite look from the avant garde challenge was melissa's. dmitry's was beautifully tailored, but i really really wished it was a suit rather than a dress.

I hope we'll see more from Dmitry, I love his style. On that last challenge, his was the only look I liked. I would've liked to see Sonja go back to Mood to get her golden fabric, I didn't understand why she didn't...Her dress would've probably looked much better then.

Sonja got the royal shaft, definitely should have been Fabio to go home.

Anyway, I've always felt Christopher's fakery, always talking with that soft innocent voice, yet he's the one throwing negative comments about the remaining contestants' final collections. He's finally revealing his mean side.

WOW, can't believe who won. I haven't watched the episode yet, but I couldn't be any happier. First truly deserving winner in a very long time. And looking back, one would've never guessed from the first few episodes.

WTF at the runner up though?

^^I think when you watch the episode it will make sense.
The runner up was definitely a bit of a dark horse but was so completely different from all the other contestants and finally showed his unique point of view in a really interesting and beautiful way.

He took the criticism from the judges and really rose to the challenge. I was really pulling for him at the end there and almost felt a little disappointment that he didn't win!

Would have loved for Sonjia to be in the top 4 though... I think she could have come up with a great collection.
Fingers crossed that she'll show up on a future season of PR All Stars.

I found fabios designs troughout the show quite boring, but his final show i found the most interesting of all of them. However nice some of the stuff others made was, it was also so very safe.

Finally got around to watching it, and I am so happy Christopher got sent packing, not even runner up. His fake "nice guy" personality is jarring and I thought he was merely lucky all those times winning (especially that Rockettes challenge - yeah his outfit screamed NYC, but Dmitry's was way better - better executed, better tailoring, better design).

Michael Kors has bid “auf Wiedersehen” to "Project Runway." The designer who served as judge on the reality fashion competition show for 10 seasons cited scheduling difficulties as the reason for his departure. For season 11, Zac Posen will take his place. Posen, who is particularly well-known for his dramatic, elegant evening wear, told The Associated Press, “This was an amazing opportunity. I’m here to give a new perspective to the designers.”

In the cast of the show’s characters, which includes mentor Tim Gunn, Nina Garcia, fashion director of Marie Claire, and Heidi Klum, Kors was known for his funny, insightful, sometimes acerbic zingers to describe various outfits, using phrases such as, “a transvestite flamenco dancer at a funeral.”

A statement from Lifetime TV, said that Kors was off but not out. “Michael will be seen in the future on the show and we are excited to confirm that Michael will be back as judge for sea on 11 finale.”

In a tweet on Tuesday afternoon, Kors wrote to Klum, “Love you and the @ProjectRunway family! “ To which Klum responded, “I will miss you this season my brother @MichaelKors I love you!
