Project Runway Season Four

I think Rami's client liked his design. I know I totally would've worn it. My prom dress was in the same fabric, same length and had ruching as well so I could understand why a girl would want to wear it. Yeah, it didn't look "prom" but as someone whose main goal was wearing smth that wouldn't be hideous and passe and gross in 20 years, I think it worked

well she could definitely wear it in 20 years as a 36 year old and it would look appropriate...

but initially when he asked her if she would like something fitted or draped, she said fitted and he gave her draped. It definitely wasn't ugly...but it really reminded me of his first dress. It was all Rami...

I agree that Rami just did a typical "Rami" dress and didint' seem concerned with pleasing the client.
I wonder if he would have done the same if he didn't have immunity.
He was lucky the girl was easy going and liked it.
Imagine if he had Maddie as a client.

I liked seeing Christian having a bit of trouble this week.:innocent:
A nice change from the norm of him finishing early and giving unwanted advice.
I also liked Nina calling him out on the runway for his tactless dissing of his client and blaming her.
He was a no win- he didn't please himself or the client.

I wish Ricky had gone.
I didn't like his dress at all.
The colour was terrible for the girl....
the hem looked bad....
and I can't take anymore tears!

What a giant load of crappy, boring, uninspired dresses. Granted, it's prom, it's for younger girls, but come on. Every single one of those dresses could be bought at Bebe, Jessica McClintock or Urban Outfitters. Not one of those looked prom to me, they were either Bar Mitzvah looking or trashy clubwear.

Christian's bs was totally contradictory to his garment. All that stuff about being a designer not a dressmaker was laughable because he did exactly what a dressmaker would do, make a dress according to a clinets specifications. Plus, it was fug and poorly made.

I hated Victorya's dress, it looked so cheap and trashy. The color, the rhinestones, the neckline....*cringe* On the one hand I can totally belive that it won, on the other it's kind of sad that that was considered the best. Kind of like being the expensive house in a bad neighborhood.

I agree with the elimination choice, though I was sad to see him go.

Haha, most of these dresses were pretty tasteful and better than the vast majority of dresses at my prom less than a year ago. However I thought the best were not on the runway for the win. Chris, Jillian and Kit all did great IMO.

^ I thought Chris should have been in the Top as well.
He has been doing much better lately.

I didn't like Victorya's either. The bright colour w/ the tacky jewels was too much.

Those girls were such bad walkers!!!!

Christian's still in. That's all that matters.

And I personally liked Rami's dress. Not all of us teenagers want to look like call girls at prom... :innocent:

That's something I thought about as well. The client was happy with it as was the designer, so what's the problem? The judges will always say "making your client happy is the most important task", so why did they put him down so much. Maybe it WAS a signature design of his, but the girl liked it, so I fail to see where he did anything wrong in this challenge.

It doesn't matter what Maddy wanted. Anyone who has ever been to prom knows that 99% of the dresses there are TACKY. It's not shocking that a 17 year old girl would want an explosion of glitter.
That is SO true! Just today my friends and I were talking about prom and trying to pick out a theme...I of course was disgusted by the ideas they threw out, some of which included "Tonight and Forever," "Midnight Mystery," "This is for Tonight," and "A Romance for Forever." Prom grosses me out. Everything is SO tacky!!!! The girls in their garish jewel-toned Windsor gowns from the mall, their stringy, over hair-sprayed up-dos, their strappy high heels, they guys in cheap tuxes, the tacky decor and table center pieces...it makes me want to gag. If only I was in charge... I'm sad Kevin went...Ricky is outstayed his welcome...and he's been outstaying his welcome since the first episode...so... I kind of felt bad for Christian this week, hopefully it will humble him now that he's realized he's not hot sh*t. His client was AWFUL. She was like one of those vomit-inducing brats on "Super Sweet 16."

Chris, Jillian and Kit all did great IMO.

I can't agree more...those three were all beautiful standouts in their own way! Jillian's in particular resembled a beautiful aquarium  It's so surprising that all three were only regarded as "mediocre"

I know! Kit is always the bridesmaid when she usually does a great job. All of her outfits this far have been good, and yet wishy-washy Victorya has 2 wins? :yuk:

Maybe it's just me but I kinda find most of this season to be a bit dull. I'm tired of all of these challenges where you have to make clothes out of nontraditional items or for big football guys. I want to see them make alluring dresses, am I asking too much ?? :p
I thought most of those prom looks were unoriginal. I liked Sweet Pea's and Victorya's without the gems. I thought Rami's looked too much like an arm sling, and Ricky's color and style were so unflattering.
I am friends with three of the people from this season, and of course LOVE seeing them, but feel the show isn't really showcasing the designers talent. I also found out from friends who know other members of the show that 3 people we know from L.A. were *asked* to be on the show. They were "requested" to enter because not very many qualified people were turning out to audition. Which I find sort of fixed, or casted in a way??

I guess I want something to happen to make me want to watch what will happen next. I assume my friend Rami will advance to the top 3. As he should, cause he is beyond talented, has already done GEN ART, elected awards on the emerging new fashion designers front, sold to Jessica Alba, (countless other celebs) been on TYRA, has his own showroom.
I wish there was more suspense and less formula t.v.

I love Jillian's stuff so far & Rami

sorry to complain, I just used to LOVE watching this-

I was waiting to see if someone mentioned this. Rami has also already done LA fashion week...not to compare to New York, but when I saw him on the show I knew I wouldn't be rooting for him. I like to root for the underdog and he ain't it.

very underwhelming challenge for me. i agree what they said about rami's dress, although i loved the pleating on the skirt, the top was awfully similar to the dress he made in the first challenge.

i liked sweet p's dress, but it WAY too traditional - nothing original or standout-ish at all. although i would have loved to see her win... btw, did victorya brush off sweet p's hand when she congratulated her :innocent:?

OMG, and seriously, RICKY HAS GOT TO GO!!!!!!! all that crybaby did was cut some cotton and wrap a belt around it. no originality, crappy color (NO COLOR), bad, cheap taste overall.

poor kevin. but the styling was awful... that poor girl looked like a drag queen hooker from queens

As much as I hated the idea of the Hershey's competition and some of the others as well, I thought this episode would have been perfect. I mean, there are girls who wear McQueen and Galliano to prom and it don't look like Jessica McClintock or A.B.S. Who said prom had to mean mediocre, middle-of-the-road department store bullsh*t? Even with the demands of the girls, and their big night in mind, the designers should have been able to translate it all into projects that showcased their philosophy and were fabulous. I didn't find a single one of those dresses attractive.
