Skinny jeans for men... Coming to an end?

haha. they may be coming to an end for men, but for me....

negative. As long as i feel comfortable in them, then let me be!

But i will say, I'm getting tired of wearing them almost everyday, i want to mix my wardrobe with some skinny dress pants....hotness.:woot:

I happen to own a pair of Skinny Levis for MEN. What is the big deal? If it wasnt for men you would not have leggings and skinny jeans, name brand clothing, etc. In the 20s, boys worn tights and girls didnt wear them because they worn long dresses. Boys wore tights with shorts. In the 60s is when women started wearing pantyhose. 70's men worn leggings and thermals while women worn tights but for exercise and dance. 1980s, men were wearing sports tights that women wear now to the gym called leggings. Women were wearing tights as exercise apparel with leotards. Jordache was the brand people wanted to wear. Men worn them then women started to wear jeans more. 1990s, Madonna and cindy lauper wore fishnets and what were leggings or appeared to be leggings with her outfits. Young guys wore fishnets in the 90s for the SKA / Punk scene. Women worn stretch pants that resembled leggings in the 90s. Men were still wearing running tights as brands like Dolphin, and Nike started. Later came Reebok, Avia, New Balance, and then ... Women's leggings. After men had already started wearing them. Now they are in for women. Men dont want to wear them unless they are running but cylcing is ok. Cylce tights got popular from tour de France and other cycling events. Then speed skating uses similar outfit. Most recent there are tights for swimming now. The skinny jeans came from men before women worn them. Jordache, and levis had very slim bootcut styles that were close to this style. SO there you go. We started it and now you think we are not giong to continue. Not a chance. It will go on. Watch. We will have logos and prints on ours upcoming soon.

@ecman2wst:

*cough* KARMA!!!! Not so sure about the last sentence though.

I don't think that the skinny jeans trend is coming to an end. I think that is becoming more a staple in a man's wardrobe so you won't see it being worn everyday on men as we'be been seeing it recently. Also, designers are using slimmer cuts on dress pants, using different fabrics such as wool, leather, etc in the latest collections. So I think this cut and style is here to stay.

I hope they do. Both for men & women..

Not at all. I think the more "conservative" girls do.
Errr.. what do you mean "conservative"? I always thought it was more of a "body type" related issue.

Someone asked if all girls believed that men should not wear skinny jeans, and I answered that surely not all girls believe that, but I think the more conservative girls do. "Conservative" as in unwilling to open your mind and be more forward in terms of fashion. "Conservative" as in equating one's masculinity with what he wears. "Conservative" as in being so stuck on America's gender roles that the pure sight of a man in a pair of skinny jeans is appalling. That is what I mean when I speak of the more "conservative" girl.

I love skinny jeans, but I do think it's coming to an end for men..

Ha never! its just what the guy likes thats it! i like mine tight since forever years and years just how i like them. Some like them bigger, some just jump on it for the trend and are mostly the ones looking like toolbags. So thats it some like it some dont. some gals like it some dont and if they dont eh i can move on.

Amazingly said, Crakk! A lot of guys miss out on a lot of things because they're constantly worried about seeming gay, or feminine.

I'm adding you as a friend, right now. :woot:

Thanks, it is so true!

dunno what the big deal is...
its been a punk scene thing since the 70s and i think it will always be part of it...
just because theyre worn by more guys now....doesnt make it anything special

I find it quite hot on guys actually. If you've got the body for it.
But looser jeans are hotter, not baggy though. And i dislike those with so much nicknacks. They should be simple.
And i think skinny jeans are here to stay, both for women and for men.

why wear skinny jeans in the summer? just another way to sweat, at least for me.
in the summer, i'm probably gonna go more of a straight leg, not a full leg, still slim, but skinny jeans are out unless i'm going out at night. they're just too uncomfortable in heat.

maybe a pair of 501xx STF's or something along those lines...

AGREED! This year, i do not plan on wearing my skinnies in the heat! no no no! trying to hard to look cool in heat, jeans just don't work. i finally just sed no more last summer.

I just want some alternatives to jeans. I hate regular plain front shorts, i want some 70s shorts like at AA. I know some people hate 'em but you got to do what you got do to in heat and jeans are not it and they look so retro to me.
