Skinny jeans for men... Coming to an end?

Hmmm, I would say that the skinny jeans trend isn't gonna last for much longer. And that's essentially what it is: a trend. Besides, I never see anyone other than emo/scene kids wearing skinny jeans.

btw...why is skinny jeans ending particularly for men?
if you look at designers who are leading the field in trends, they are reverting back to more classic cuts, fuller thighs, less tapering, and more like a standard profile for jeans. its not like either the skinny cut or the fuller cut ever went away - its just that trends dictated that skinny, tapered jeans (which were very popular in the 80's-early 90's) were in style. while they may say otherwise now, it will take the rest of the world, because fashion disseminates so slowly (thats why you see people in the midwest still rocking JNCO jeans...), that skinny jeans will be around for a good 3 years longer. i can't say i rock a77 skinny style, but i do enjoy a fitted pair of jeans.

I like me skinny jeans. They are not that skinny but they are pleasantly snug against part of my legs.

I think they will be around for a while, if they work on you, they can look great. I think what many people need to realise is that skinny jeans do not make you skinny, some people blindly jumping on something that has become a trend can ruin it all to easily.

I think people just don't realize that you have to be SKINNY to successfully (usually, anyway) wear skinny jeans. If you're an above average or even just average weight, there's a good chance you won't look great in them.

...Which is why I love skinny jeans, finally something I love to wear that doesn't make me look like I'm floating in a sea of fabric!

^That's so funny...and so true.
So many guys and girls wear skinny jeans when their bodies are disproportionate, meaning a fat stomach and skinny legs.

skinny jeans on guys make them look like medivel minstrels......all you need are those long shoes and you good to go.

because everyone who's wearing skinny jeans is automatically labeled as emo/scene kid

in modern times, we have found a way to perfect the look, cut and styling of skinny jeans, so i would officially enter them into the classic staple category. yes, they became very trendy, but certain trends become staples (sheath dresses, cowboy boots, jodhpurs...) and certain ones BECOME fads, and only ever come back as ironic statements, never to be perfected (neon nylon track suits, trucker caps, high heeled hiking boots)

I know that was sarcastic, but the thing is North Americans are so completely ignorant of anything that's not the norm, that I've actually been called emo for wearing skinny jeans... just because everyone else is caught up in the 90's with their baggy jeans that look like they've just survived a tornado.

Then again, only gay guys care about fashion, right?^_^
The US and Canada are full of obnoxious stereotypes, and it's really too bad.

^^yeah i know what you mean...
i mean im not originally from the UK...where i come from ppl are exactly the same...

like how your post is an obnoxious stereotype against North Americans. :smartass:
....:huh::unsure::innocent:

if you don't look absolutely heinous (for men = thunder thighs in supertapers with saggy seat area that makes you look like a gross chick who crapped her pants) and look like you own your clothes--then who cares? maybe people are staring at your fabulous legs or gaping because they're dumbfounded by your hotness? :flower:

AGREED!!! 1000%

And living in South Carolina doesn't help either. If you even say the word fashion...OMG! HE'S GAY...HE'S GAY HE'S GAY OMGOMGOMG!

I get this one alot...."Why do you want to go to New York/far away?"

ME: WELL MAYBE B/C THERE'S NOTHING HERE IN SC OR SOUTH IN GENERAL!

Hmmm.... super skinny/tight pants are the new baggy jeans. They'll be around for at least the next century or half century, and will probably go on to help characterize our generation for both genders.
