US Vogue February 2014 : Lena Dunham by Annie Leibovitz

I'm sorry imgbox.com is out (I don't know why), so I used this host and but I don't get it! But if you take the letter 'l' at the end of the link right before '.jpg' they turn into UHQs! I'm sorry for this mess... :flower:

In imgur.com you have to select "Large thumbnail". So you post a MQ picture with the link to the real sized one.

Thanks now I got it :flower:, I was copying all the wrong links  sorry for this trouble!

Hoping to see Natasha Poly back in US Vogue! Patrick shoots many time for them & he loves her, let's wait and see :) I'm saying this because last issue they changed the casting and the outcome was very good, with new, diverse and dynamic models! :)

It's heu... very bad. Worse that we all expected and really: did Anna Wintour approved this??? I can't speak right now.

I think Lena Dunham is an artificially created 'phenomena' - her work is so overrated. However, I appreciate seeing a new face in US Vogue.

Here is the problem. The idea for the cover was to do something cute, different, endearing, etc. I get it... But it's not a beautiful photo. And Lena has plenty of beauty.... Vogue's unintentional message is that a girl who doesn't fit into a typical model beauty standard can't be photographed as a BEAUTIFUL WOMAN. She can be funny, awkward, interesting - but not captivating. How unfair. They didn't need to glam Lena up. It's not about that. It's not about fitting a square peg in a round hole. But they could have easily focused on her beauty, not on her awkwardness.

Cosmopolitan's review of Lena Dunham's editorial:
Lena Dunham's much-rumored Vogue cover is, as of this morning, a reality. Deal with it however you can, because the magazine has now debuted its February issue, with Dunham anointed as "the new queen of comedy." I'm also choosing to believe that "HEY GIRL" cover line is a Ryan Gosling reference, per the actor's iconic "Hey girl" meme. Because if Vogue gets Girls now, they must get memes too. Or at least one of the editorial assistants does, and she proved brave enough to explain to her bosses.

Dunham's then editorial makes much of her street cred as a seasoned, gritty New Yorker. (Although in all the outside shots, it looks a little like she's been photochopped into the background.) Alongside her Girls co-star Adam Driver, she's photographed by the Flatiron building, on a subway platform, and even in what appears to be BROOKLYN. With a pigeon on her head, no less. An actual pigeon. Go home Vogue, you're drunk.

I like this new Vogue. The last 3 issue have all been great.

I am a Girls fan and a Lena fan so I think I may be bias but I think this cover is amazing and so is her story.

It has been a while since I've seen Vogue let vibrance and personality shine through the beauty seen on the cover. Cate's January cover image was beautiful but flat, like most cover images of the past few years.

I am not a fan of the editorial at all, but instead of nitpicking, I'm going to celebrate Lena's appearance. I just read some sad statistics about women in the film and television industry:

"...women made up only 18.6 percent of executive producers for television shows in 2011-12, men of all ethnic/racial backgrounds combined, made up 81.4 percent.

"In 2012, men were 95.6 percent of directors, 91.8 percent of writers, and 80 percent of producers. This is a behind the screen ratio of 5 men to every 1 woman behind the camera."

So really, I could not be more thrilled about the cover subject. I know Lena is a polarizing figure, but love her or hate her, she is one of the few women out there making a huge impact in the industry. She should be on the cover of Vogue. She looks, and is, amazing.

(Oh, and how does Vogue make the February red/white theme work without being corny? I loved the feel of Debra Messing's and Angela Lindvall's February covers, and I Love Lena's cover too.)

Beautiful comment, i especially agree with the bold part. And while i dont think its the best cover, i will buy it just because its her on it. And the OCD in me, appreciates the fact there is NO banner, and relatively little text!

When Cosmopolitan is mocking your covers and content then you know it's a dire situation...

...but seriously, they should keep their mouths shut, this is still 10 times more creative than anything they've produced in the last 5+ years.

This cover reminds to a Rolling Stone cover, with Meryl Streep shot by Leibovitz in 1981 or 82. I don't know so well who's that girl & wait that the content will be better.

So bad, I think I'm finally going to cancel my subscription. I've never even had the impression that this girl has any interest in fashion and this cover could be Rolling Stone or Entertainment Weekly.

I am waiting to cancel when they put Kim K. on it.
Kate upton strike one
This strike two
Kim k I'm out
Unless they put Joan Smalls or Karlie and all would be forgiven

That's honestly the worst Vogue cover story that I can remember, and I like Lena. The whole thing is just so awkward. I cannot believe they allowed this disaster.

I love the colours, especially the polka dots which will really sell the cover but the edit is a complete and utter catastrophe. Plus her expression looks more of in worry that Anna's attempting to squeeze her into a Prada dress

They do deserve Cosmopolitan mocking at them.

Zooey Deschanel come back home!

Not a fan of the cover, hopefully the other contents will be better.
