US Vogue November 2016 : Emma Stone by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

I'm so sick of this election, and the way it's become impossible to avoid! Will throw a party once its over! So for that reason, i am not into this cover! But mostly; why is she hiding her face? Because its been such a sad affair? Somehow i doubt Wintour has that much humor to pick this shot intentionally?

Either way, that is an ugly sweater, and for me the worst cover in a long while! I will take Kimye over this! Feels like something Glamour would pull off, lefts lift it!!!

Good thing for Emma is that the previous issues she covered were one of the worst sellers of the year, so if this bombs Anna has her back, and will use her again!

YES, to everything you've said here, but I do think this is her best cover yet. The thing about Emma is that magazines tend to go very safe on her, God knows why. I like the quirkiness of the shot. But I see once again M&M presented a set of disjointed images, will this become a thing for them now?? Not impressed.

I actually like the cover, but what the hell is that editorial? I truly don't understand what is going on in it.

I love Emma Stone but I feel Vogue has never quite managed to capture what I love about her? If anything, British Vogue did it best for me. Which is something very rarely said!

Oh, i don't like the grey background. I thought it was dark moss-ish like in the first picture.

I think the ed is supposed to be her doing different movies (?), so it might be why it's disconnected.

I also kind of really like the Vote part as well. Even if it's not the most aesthetically pleasing bit of graphic design, it does the job and there's more important things than a magazine cover at this moment in time, so I like that Vogue is doing their bit to encourage voters in such a blatant way.

I agree. It's such a service to the public to take part in encouraging people to get out and vote. I seriously love the idea about this. And to put it on the logo to add emphasis? Smart move. And I love the fact that they're involved. They're showing the world that they're not just a magazine of glamour, fashion, and beauty -- that they're also involved with matters such as voting. I honestly thought it was going to be Michelle Obama

However, the image itself is absolutely horrible. Why on earth would they choose this? It's weird. And it's not appealing nor inviting. But I love the fact that the word VOTE overshadows her. That all eyes is on that "VOTE" and not this weird image.

The layout looks clean, but it looks like there was something more to be done and placed. Clean, yet it feels undone.

They should have gotten a shot from the set with the black dress and smokey eye. She reminds me of Eva Green in that photograph.

And... ANOTHER plain gray studio cover from Mert & Marcus for US Vogue. Kendall Jenner September 2016 much? And that shot of hers in the white background, resembles a shot they took of Kendall from that month as well. They're no longer doing it for me. Greg Harris, Inez & Vinoodh are far more worthy to shoot their covers. They just don't feel inspired anymore.

I appreciate the little amount of text

I actually really like the cover. Crop tops aren't necessarily to my liking but I'll gladly take them over another in-your-face Gucci or Vuitton outfit.

Also, I don't feel that the editorial is disjointed. It looks clear to me that it's about the evolution of an aspiring actress' career - from going to auditions and working a second job to being an assistant on the set - which culminates with a timeless profile in wavy Veronica Lake curls as the ultimate Hollywood cliche announcement that you've 'made it'. I think it's certainly fun.

Great cover. This kind of styling (especially the hair) really suits Emma.
It looks better with the instagram filter though... something seems wrong with the colors of the masthead and the background in the HQ version.

I used to think nothing of her (okay actress, okay looks) and somehow, in one of those slow, 2x1 days at a movie theater , I found myself watching Aloha. And I haven't been able to get past that lol, I find her irritating.. especially the ""/if I open my eyes more, I might just nail this scene, which of course she does again in Irrational Man. I've read great reviews on the LA movie.. I might just watch it, but yeah, a cover with Emma Stone peeling her eyes? no thanks.. call me back when she's blindfolded.

Goodness, "Aloha" was insufferable!

I have no taste for Ms. Stone...there's nothing aspirational, stylish or interesting about her. She's what Buzzfeed dreams are made of. What with Jennifer Lawrence, Taylor Swift and Emma Stone all landing Vogue covers, I suppose it's only a matter of time before we see Ms. Buzzfeed Herself, Anna Kendrick, on the cover of this magazine? Oh dear....

Yes, that is more or less the plot of the film she is promoting, which I guess most here so far didn't know about.

I thought highly of her in Easy A and thought she had great comic timing, but unfortunately she's not dynamic at all and all of her characters are her Easy A character.

Not surprised Wintour favors her though, she favors the vapid.

I thought I loved the cover until I saw it in HQ. That cheap looking background is back.

Saw the HQ cover on their instagram page. It would make much more sense if the 'V' was white. Dark blue really does not compliment the grey backdrop. It really took me a big while to understand the V..OTE play on the masthead. The shadowed 'Pretty Chic' is unnecessary. Really.. whoever responsible for this should totally get a new job.

Emma looks lovely.

the cover is a Meisel copt, and the editorial is terrible so fake, to much photoshop no have a storie

Wow, this issue SUCKS. Sorry, everyone already knew that.

Where's my December issue with Felicity Jones?

Testino, Demarchelier, Sims, Theo Wenner, Grace Hartzel (who apparently got persuaded by Vogue to cut her hair???)! Nope, I'll pass. At least Harris have 12pages, which for me will most likely be the highlight of this issue. But apart from that the review reads about as interesting as the cover star.

Thanks for posting, Kroqjock! ;)

I quite like the cover if it weren't for that awful, cheap gray background. Hideous.
The editorial is quite cute though..

But seriously, Grace Hartzel and Andreea Diaconu are the only models in this issue? I can't get worse than this.
