I just read another one that said, "Michael Bay got to work with Miranda Kerr and co on new advert" She's barely in the commercial.
Why do they only mention her?

I don't get why that article is making such a big deal about Miranda Kerr when the commercial showed more Ale and Doutzen than any of the other girls. I only saw Chanel once. I don't even remember seeing Marissa, I think she was on top of the pool table looking like a playboy hussy. I don't think Miranda was even memorable in that commercial. Where was she?

So, after seeing the show, here's a reaaallly long review (I don't mean to offend anyone, just sharing my opinion
My Favorite Models:
Maryna Linchuk:
I just think she was the hottest girl there. She looked so amazing in the yellow outfit, and her attitude in the entire show was perfect. Though, I didn't like the effect the second outfit gave... it looked ill-fitting so that stupid lollipop-head thing happened, but her looks, body and attitude saved it. I don't know if I'd want her to sell her soul there, but I can see why she herself would since it pays well, means a lot of exposure and she wouldn't have to do the crazy fashion-week schedule. Or who knows... maybe it could be a Gisele-like thing and she still manages to stay relevant in fashion. I'd love that. But for now, I think she's best doing both: fashion loves her and VS loves her so she's in a great position and it's easy to see why

She was probably the classiest girl, which is interesting because she was platinum blond. Same case with Maryna... I hope she'll return, but I don't know about Angel status. I'm disappointed she got 1 outfit, but I think it was great, but the thing on her stomach didn't fit well, but it wasn't too bad. Normally I hate the slow-motion sequences, but again, so classy and stunning. She has a great body, and such an angelic face with gorgeous blue eyes

Honestly, I'm not sure I even consider her to be a model anymore, just a public figure for them. What I just hate is that the media here just paints her to be some supermodel goddess, when she is neither. It's the ultimate case of them calling an undeserving model a supermodel, I know she wouldn't be half where she is now if she hadn't mad herself a commercial brand. And to be honest, I think she looks cocky because of the media hype. I don't think she is as gorgeous as she hyped up to me... I think her smile is the epitome of cheesy, and her body isn't what it used to be. I hate how it's apparently heroic that she went on the runway, when she was all covered up with some weird stuff that created such an unflattering shape... very few models could pull off that outfit, but because it's Heidi...
Ana Beatriz Barros:
I just think she's terrible. I'll give her that she doesn't do anything stupid on the runway, though. But to me she's just another Brazilian VS/SI girl with a nice body, but has absolutely nothing special and no presence anywhere. I don't think she's pretty since I don't like her skin color or her mouth... I can't tell if she's pouting on purpose or not, but it's really annoying. I think the biggest problem is that she has such dead eyes and looks like she's in some haze. She doesn't connect with me at all, and that's interesting because her eye color really pops. She's just... there. So I do think she is over-rated with public opinion.
Candice Swanepoel:
Well, her smile didn't annoy me like it used to, that's good. But I think the problem for me is that her success with VS and lack of doing anything different just makes me think of her as what VS has become. I really cannot imagine her in an old VS show from 2005 and down, and maybe not even 2006, though maybe I just love it because it was Gisele's last.
Other Models I Loved:
Caroline Trentini: I didn't mind her bangs here, and her body and walk were amazing
Liu Wen: She doesn't have the perfect VS body, but her energy was spot-on.
Doutzen Kroes: Congrats on closing the show. Beautiful, as always.
Marisa Miller: I don't like where they put the FB, or the bra itself, but she looked great.
Alessandra Ambrosio: I'm just partial to her since she's the only in the show that was my favorite during the...03-05 era with the Angels
Abbey Lee: dance, girl, dance!
Tatiana Kovylina: Welcome back dear!
Caroline Winberg: I love her walk, gotta give her props on walking in that weird net-thing, and I think she has a great smile and nice eyes.
Isabeli Fontana: Love her, but I wish her hair were darker, but still very striking
Aminata Niaria: soooo gorgeous
I liked Anja and Eniko, but I feel they were out of place. If they hadn't put Eniko in the Pink segment
I want Flavia, Michaela K (I don't like how she opened a segment her first year and is now missing), Lara (not as much as the others since she doesn't really need it that much), Stam (same with Lara though), Hana (same again), Marija, Bruna, Katja (if it happened to Tatiana...), Yuliaand a bunch of other girls I'm forgetting back next time, whenever that may be.
Overall, I don't think she show will ever be like 2005, but it's still great fun. The music was so-so, and most of the costumes were tacky, but some were nice. One thing I don't really understand is how the voting thing worked, since they already taped the show. I mean, I guess they probably sent them both out, but how did they tape reactions?

Looking back at the VS Casting video I'm still bummed that a lot of my favorites weren't cases such as Bruna, Yulia K, Cintia, Fernanda (!!), Oluchi and Marija.

i found this really funny today..
while at a restaurant watching football, the BEP "Boom Boom Pow" came on and I kid you not, about 3 tables within my earshot were like "Omg did you see the VSFS!?" "Those girls are beautiful!" "The BEP were on the VSFS!"
then while walking around in the mall, I pass VS and I overheard a couple of people talkinga bout the show. "Oh no! I forgot to watch!" "It was good!" "Those girls *points to Ale and Doutzen* were in it! Beautiful!"
idk i found it cute that people were just giving it simple compliments while in this thread, we are tearing the show into pieces and going into all this acute detail about the models and outfits and editing.

Yeah, because most of the people who really enjoyed the show are as simple and thin minded as the thongs they buy from VS. That's why they point, because they don't know their names.
Well I think it just proves the general audience VS is trying to capture when airing their shows. Obviously the show isn't aimed for people who know everything about models and fashion. It's aimed to draw new people in. It was kind of interesting to see it up close.
Yeah, a lot of people from the general public, which arent that much into fashion, dont know what it is all about.
The general public doesnt care which the next supermodel is, and they probably cant name more than three models! And the models they know are from VS because if its high publicity.
Americans have no idea whats going on in Europe and what the high fashion trends are.
The average family cares about surviving this economic crisis and not about fashion and models.
At the end of the day they tune in to watch VS show not because they are simply intersted in what will happened this year or what will change, but just to get their 1 hour of entertainment, before they go to bed.
Here, people are interested in the many aspects of fashion, and this is why we are all breaking down and analyzing every single bit of that show, because for us, its more than some kind of enetrtainement show.
C'mon now, we all wait the whole year for this one moment, and when your dissapointed, you got a place to say what bothered you and what pleased you.
