Vogue España May 2016 : The Victoria's Secret Angels by David Bellemere

Jasmine and Elsa are the two that stand out for me, in a good way. Martha is the one who stands out in a bad way.

Jasmine, Taylor and Elsa stand out for me.

Martha + Stella are so unremarkable, VS are lowering their standards I see...

i love it! fresh and relaxed not the usual over commercialized michael bay stuff

They finally owned the fact that they're a glorified high-fashion Victoria's Secret catalogue.

This cover would have looked more interesting without Martha; always looking like Elsa's bland sister. She adds nothing.

And Romee can look better than this.

i like the cover....personally maybe a little bit of air would be better but its ok....i prefer march or april covers but this is not bad.

funny that Vogue Spain and Harper's Bazaar Spain both used VS girls and both with lingerie trend....spies everywhere huh? or it's a deal with certain brand....

I like the editorial. Stella looks good and also love the standing group shot.

Stella looks so good. I know everyone hates but I love her. She's by far the most interesting girl VS has offered us in yeeeaaars.

Romee and Martha, although gorgeous and i'm sure they're lovely girls, look really bad in every picture. Too bad for them.

Elsa, Romee, and Martha look spectacular. Jazmin's shots are probably the worst for me.

The very predictable styling killed the effect. It's boring...

The Stepford Wives had more personality.

You really come to think of the VS trajectory when you see this cover. Just take a second and imagine this cover back in the 90s with all the classic VS models. And now look at this one again. It's almost (sadly) hilarious. :P

I have no idea who most of these girls are but my eyes go straight to two of them. Everyone else is so plastic, so numb, so empty, so unaware.

It's only bad to me when I compare it to Bellemere's earlier work, without all the commercial compromise that gigs like this have. Other than that, I don't see anything trashy, soft p*rn-ish or even below the "high standards of Vogue" (whose covers, quick reminder, have been graced by the likes of Melania Trump, Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Johnny Borrell, among others..). Maybe the problem is that, since it's Victoria's Secret marketing, you know attempting to look seductive, sensual, etc is part of the equation, but the result looks more like an Elle France special on summer skincare, and the riskier the shot, the riskier the skincare method too, this for instance is soo unrealistic/cheesy poster at dodgy clinic that does laser hair removal. Same for the one with topless Sara.

I don't want to blame it on the girls, but this would look soo different with someone like Edita for instance.
