What to wear when you're a student

today I threw on one of my vintage dresses.it's white with these gigantic purple and fuschia and green blobs of flowers,it has poufy sleeves that are elbow length.it's about knee length.and an equestrian inspired belt with metal studs and triangle squares.it's usually too hot to wear jeans plus every girl who squeezes into them wears them.i wear a lot of skirts and vintage and worn in and boyfriend's overshize shirts, belts.nearly always sandals or slippers or my worn in Vans.so many girls have trashy style in Hawaii. UGH

IF it's an oral exam...I would tend to dress properly.

Otherwise..jeans ,tshirt and a slippers.

I try to dress better during my exams. Rockstar T-shirt, skinny jeans, dress shoes. If the professor's gonna r*pe me to death with the exam, might as well look good.

Heh
I love it when girls dress up for exams..gives me somethign to gape at while i'm waiting for the exam to end.

Like someone else said, when I have an exam, I tend to not sleep at all (or a few hours, if any), so I definitely don't spend a great deal of time getting ready. Most of the kids here tend to sport the sweatshirt and jeans deal for exams because it's comfortable. I wouldn't want to be in the middle of an exam and be sidetracked because my feet are killing due to my choice of shoes or anything along those lines, so comfort is key on exam days for me. Personally, I'd rather get a good grade than look good, if that's what it boils down to :p

Kids at my school wear flip-flops, sneakers, sweatshirts, pjs, sweatpants, oversized t-shirts and other forms of sportswear everyday...including exams. The only difference is on exam days, girls tend to not wear makeup when on normal days they wear a face full of it.

In my opinion pjs and sweats should NEVER be worn out of the house. You can be comfortable without looking like you just woke up or went to the gym. I think dressing like that is disrespectful and it shows you don't take the class seriously. At my school they actually had to ban pajama pants because so many people would wear them!

It's your brain that's being taken for a walk, and not on a runway.

Agreed! Clothes are the last thing on my mind during an exam! If anything, I think about temperature and comfort. Dress in layers, don't wear open toed sandals, and for heavens sake, wear running shoes in case you miss the bus!

In fact, this discussion kinda freaks me out.

If I have huge exams, I go for comfort however I try to make it somewhat stylish. I never leave the house in my PJs but to me comfort=smart.

Well..just because your brain is on display doesn't mean youhave to look like crap.
The 'just out of bed look' is great for written papers..but if you have an oral exam etc..better dress properly.!

Morning classes= my gym clothes, running shoes. I go to the gym after class.
Afternoon classes= whatever I want to wear.

Exams= glasses, sneakers, T shirt, school sweat shirts, trainer, watch, hat if I hadn't taken a shower.

WEll..just finished my last exam today:woot:

I dress as I usually do for school. Typically jeans, tshirt/tank plus a cardigan/zip up/light jacket Like some others have said, I need to be comfortable but not TOO comfortable. Some exam rooms get really hot/cold so I always layer just in case. Flat shoes are a must whether they're chucks or ballet flats.

I don't understand why people go all out and dress up like it's a fashion show...especially for exams...like..no one's gonna be looking? And for those who wear stilettos to school...well..good luck to them...I wear sneakers and I still get tired from walking from class to class.

Oh..and I ALWAYS wear glasses at school..covers up those dark circles..and I hate waking up early to prepare so much for my attire. I'll save that for going out. glasses makes me feel smarter too....LOL...j/k :p

hmm..reading previous posts..i take back what i said about people not looking and the heels thing since some people do that
IMO, there's no need to be too dressy for school..but shouldn't be too sloppy either (PJ's). Sweats are fine...just no denim jacket w/ jeans and matching track suits for me...comfort is key, but adding a cute pair of flats or accessories to an otherwise bland outfit would be my ideal for school, incl.exams

i wore a uniform all through my years of school...
dressing up meant putting on the nikes instead of ugly new balances :D

I have to wear a school uniform so I don't have the problem of looking for an exam outfit in the morning.
I'm in college in September though so I guess I have it to come
x

I have to wear a school uniform but it is cute ... a little polo shirt with the school emblem and navy skirt ...Next year at uni/college I can wear whatever I like!

i have to wear my gorgeous school uniform  i mean seriously y dont they just give us sacks with holes for the head and arms in, u wouldnt notice the difference. and people wear their pyjamas out of the house in public in the US  the furthesst ive ever been in my pyjamas is my back garden

Finished my last final today, worst semester ever, hopefully.
I always try to look nice at school, my usual minimalist hobo eurotrashy style. I do wear cheaper clothes on lab days (the smell of formaldehyde tends lingers in clothes) and sweatpants maybe twice when it was raining. Even though i average like 4 hours of sleep a night I wear contacts.

I dunno how reliable they are, but studies show more attractive ppl get higher grades and whether you dress up or put on make up or etc affects that. so i guess ppl should dress up for small classes.

I usually at least wear jeans, but sometimes when i just dont feel like doing anything i wear sweats. But thats usually in the winter when it's like -30, and i'm usually bundeled up in a million layers. But i feel like i work better when i look better. But then again when i'm more comfortable i feel i can work better because i can get more comfortable in the desks....lol idk...i'm confusing lol
