What to wear when you're a student

I guess it depends how easily fashion comes to you. It seems like for some people throwing on a pair of heels and a nice skirt is simple and for others its more of a challenge. Most people I know do just dress for school whatever comes easiest to them and if wearing sweats gives you more time to study more power to you.

I study acting so basically our "school uniform" is a hoodie with sweatpants and woollen socks. It's comfortable, and it's great because basically you can just fall out of bed, and clothing is really not important in that environment. And it makes dressing up feel even better!

Well. . .
I go to a large uni where you get everything. But, mostly, it's sweats/pj pants. There are the certain few (freshman and sorority girls) who do dress up (high heels, skirts, etc).
I prefer to keep it simple: jeans or casual (but non sweat or track) pants, flats (ballet, nice trainers, or Chucks), fitted t (or something of the sort) and a sweater. Layers are quite important.
I don't like to wear sweats because it makes me feel lazy and I feel like people won't take me seriously in a class discussion if I'm dressed like I just rolled out of bed.
I try to look nice, but it's not a main concern since I'm there for grades. But it doesn't hurt to look good in the process :flower:

I study Fashion Merchandising so most of the girls in my program do make an effort to look good, especially during the spring semester. We wear anything from casual sundresses to jeans with fitted tees.

I study object & jewellery design which means most of the time we r in a workshop/studio, so we need to wear covered shoes, long pants and tops that cover shoulders. I usually wear skinny black jeans with cons and a tee with a vintage cardi or a long sleeved tee or if i'm feeling girly i'll wear skinny denim jeans with my marc jacobs flats & a cute top/tee.

i go to a private prep school and we have a uniform code.
but, i usually just wear the grey skirt. everyone else has the brown ones. -- i came later in the year and got the new uniform.
I usually wear a cashmere jumper for a top. Black or something plain, like khaki and light pink. Or when its cold, I wear a white, pink, beige or black button down. It looks professional and casual. I usually pair it with a silver bracelet. Pumps or Converses... =D

during exams i have to be super comfortable. usually i wear jeans (i call them my exam jeans), a t-shirt, some canvas shoes and a lightweight jacket.

people at my school wear pj's to exams and pj's to the cafeteria. grossss....

i think one day i should go to my exams dressed stylish like i usually do, so the other students can think i'm supersmart, seeing as how i had time to dress my usual stylish self. then they can be sweating bullets thinking i'm ruining the curve

im shocked by knowing some of u wear PJs (or even only PJpants) outside, farest i went with PJs on was the mailbox in downstairs loby of my building , and it was like "oh thank god nobody saw me"
Jeans tshirt, thats it just casual

I'm mainly wearing the same as my style is when I'm at school, but during the exam time, I'm pretty lazy with it. I just want to be comfy when I sit there having the tests, but hey, I'm still outside my house! Which means I can't be too lazy looking! This is an example from yesterday, when I had pre-exam in german:

Big tees, hoodies, Converses and some baggy pants are the perfect way to dress lazy, but still I keep it very me.

I dont dress up for college but i dont dress down either id never wear trainers or sports wear eg trackie pants etc. or yoga pants id feel too casual. I normally wear skinny jeans some form of dress oversized tee or those tee shirt dress things over it layered with beads, chains etc. on my feet is either peep toes, converses, or ballet flats. I dont dress up or make any effort normally just what i throw on.. I get compliments daily though which is good =] (not boasting at all but im just saying you can make and effort and still look worse then people who make non ).. i hate those girls who make an effort they just look rediulas and like trend whores. There is one girl who wears heals daily looks so silly. I normally wake up late so heals are impractical to rush in lol not to mention all the stairs etc.
I normally use a topshop tote bag as a bag for college seems as i have about 20 of them. well thats on the days i remember to take work with me lol.
I wear some form of scarf 4 days out of 5 as well.
I like to assorise loads. makes something plain a bit more nicer.

I usually dress up a little whether to uni or anywhere anyway, so it doesnt take me extra time. My clothes are already quite unique by itself so I tend to already look like Ive made the effort dressing up I suppose. The most casual outfits Ive been to uni in is painted jeans, graphic tee with yellow shoes or something plus a hoodie, lightweight l/s knit with casual jeans and a scarf with leather thongs or shorts or capris with a sleeveless top with a shirt slung over. Although my style is pretty niche, I make it a point to always have something Im wearing thats unique and eye-catching be it colour-combination or accessories, if all else fails, I just find a place to incorporate my Hermes twilly into my outfit to jazz it up a notch and add a nice splash of colour.

College style?

Hey all, I've been on this site for a bit but I've never really posted. I'm a college student looking for a style upgrade. Most of the time, I'll wear a nice solid-colored top (normally black or brown) with nice jeans and a pair of sneakers or flats.

What would you all suggest I add to my collection? I do enjoy nice brands, especially with regards to jeans. My favorite denim brand is Rock & Republic, but I also wear Hudson, CoH, and Blue Cult. I want to upgrade my everyday handbag to a great black satchel, but I can't seem to find anything really nice for under $500.

i'm in college and I feel like it's just more stylish to NOT look like everybody else walkin around on your campus...

try new things though...u never know what you'll end up liking on yourself.

depends on the weather. i live in california so its usually flip flops..boots in the winter. basics longslvs or tanks and jeans. overall : whatever is comfortable!

i dont wear pjs or sweats out in public. at school, id want to be dressed like i normally would so if i had to run errands after class, id be dressed appropriately.

I wear alot of basics (jeans, crisp t-shirts, ballet flats, plain white canvas Converse, flat boots, wrap dresses, big chunk scarves) that I know look good on me and just add trendy pieces (such as an IT bag or an updated accessory such as an Alexander McQueen scarf) to add style. A huge bag to tote all my books around is a must-have too.

I wear stylish basics (jeans, crisp tees, ballet flats, trench coat) and throw in seasonal pieces like a bag or scarf .... In Winter I have a big selection of coats to throw all over it all.

I like to look put-together.
