Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan's much publicised charity visit to India has run into trouble with a Delhi based NGO planning to sue the actress for falsely claiming that she saved 40 children for them.

The 23-year-old, who has been constantly 'tweeting' about her charity acts in the country, is facing the ire of NGO Bachpan Bachao Andolan, who claim that the actress is misinterpreting the facts.

"Over 40 children saved so far... Within one day's work. This is what life is about... Doing this is a life worth living! Oh, and I'm talking about being in India," the 'Mean Girls' star had said on her Twitter page.

However, Bhuvan Ribhu, national secretary of the NGO says that the actress was not even present in the country when the rescue operation took place.
"The rescue operation took place on 8 December when she had not even arrived in India. Since she was not even in the country how can she claim she rescued the children," Ribhu told PTI.

"The raid was done by the Delhi government on a complaint launch by the NGO. We will now sue her for misinterpretation of facts, breach of trust and plagiarism of cause," he said.

Lindsay Lohan returned to the U.S. on Saturday, following a weeklong visit to some of India's most impoverished areas, where she filmed a documentary about the trafficking of women and children.

"Lindsay is home from India now. I am so proud of her for going," Dina Lohan told PEOPLE Sunday of her daughter, who arrived at Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday.

While in India, Lohan visited the Sanlaap women's and children's shelter outside Calcutta, which houses young women and girls who were victims of trafficking and other forms of exploitation. Lohan spent about three hours with residents and watched dance performances by the children. At one point, she donned a bindi – a forehead decoration common in India – after bonding with some of the girls, who wore bindis themselves.

Lohan also visited hospitals, where she distributed gifts to sick children.

The actress traveled around India with a four-person camera crew from the BBC and her friend, stylist Patrick Aufdenkamp, who zztweeted earlier this week, "Can't wait for everyone to see the documentary of [Lindsay] with the incredibly brave children we met on our journey."

And Lohan herself took to Twitter to espouse the virtues of helping those less fortunate. Visiting India was "the most amazing time of my life," she wrote. "Focusing on celebrities and lies is so disconcerting, when we can be changing the world one child at a time.... hope everyone can see that."

It's sad that Lindsay complains about the attention yet never bothers to so much as name the hard-working people who actually saved those 40 children. No wonder no-one takes her philanthropy seriously.

In a fit of boredom I looked at the Lohanhouse website (don't judge me!) and what's weird is that every single photo of Lindsay is at least 3-4 years old!

Her father was arrested today. Class.

Michael Lohan was thrown back into the slammer this weekend -- and we've learned it was all over a phone call to his ex-girlfriend.

According to law enforcement sources, Lindsay Lohan's dad was arrested in Medford, NY today after calling up a woman who has a restraining order against him -- his ex Erin Muller.

We're told Lohan was charged with criminal contempt of court because she has an order of protection against him restricting Michael from "trying to communicate by phone."

Michael was arrested back in April after he allegedly threatened to kill himself and Muller when she tried to dump him earlier this year.

To begin with, I was never arrested over the weekend. Secondly, the original charge , that stated I threatened to kill Erin or myself was proven false and was dropped. Because of a mutual confidentiality Erin and I have I can only say that an order of protection was in place and Erin once again made a claim that will be proven wrong. As a matter of fact, a lot more will be proven wrong with the taped conversations, pictures, videos, and documentation I have which is being submitted to the authorities and courts. Much the same as when any person proves to lie or threaten the truth. I did however answer the complaint Erin made saying I merely called her when the order was in place, to which - was processed and released. I wish Erin the best and hope she finds whatever it is, she is looking for. I spent over two years with her and came to love her and truly care for her and all she went through in her years prior to meeting me.
