yep. I always have that tiny bit of hope that it would turn out to be an amazing show but I am always let down.

But lately i've been very curious about this years show. If they are even going to have one!

ps. How much does anyone want to bet that Usher will be performing again and they will open to the show to his "OMG" song Maryna will grab his butt again and Miranda will have another "major" moment.

Oh they are definitely having one this year. Someone posted in the VS ETC thread that the woman who designed the jewelry pieces for 2008 show just started designing for this year's circus.

To me if you block out the Runway Angel for a Day model search then IMO 2009 was pretty good - I think the opening number was one of the best (top 5) VSFS segments ever. Yeah, yeah I know the model search was a third of the show, but my point is that if you use the non-model search as the baseline for 2010 then VS probably has the right people and thought process when it comes to model and musical guest casting, themes, costume design and styling.

Yeah and the guy from The Black-Eyed Peas is going to be sitting at home yelling at the TV, "is that the skank who dissed me??!!"

^Actually, the guy from the BEP (Will.I.Am) will probably be there with Usher since he produced that OMG song. But then again, he wasn't there at the 2008 opening (was he?, I forgot) which was another song he did.

I wish they would have a diary thing of how they do the show. How they chose the themes, the music, the models, why this outfit and not that, the background images, how backstage works, more making of wings,a models preparation for the show, and how the music is made.
As for this year, I hope they have another show where I can feel the holidays. 2005 sure did so, and for me these past years the holidays don't even feel like thee holidays.
I want a show that says "WOW" not "again?"

You know, if they ever took a year off, I would hope they would do some kind of retrospect show and highlight the best years/themes and actually show maybe behind the scene footage that we've never seen before. Or maybe different angles of the show? God they have so many options! We all need to be on the creative team asap!

What is creative to them, is nothing for us. Ever since Alexandre de Betak left, VS has gone downhill. He made VS magic.

ugh can I get an Amen up in here on that one? He IS genius. VS really needs to reinvest with him. Unless they left on bad terms or something.

but if they DARE make another competition/reality show about the next VS runway "star". I will L-I-T-E-R-A-L-L-Y take my remote, throw it at the tv, and jump off my balcony

I was watching a video of some of the shows he's produced, and they are amazing.
They should bring him back. He made the show incredible.
I'm also hoping they don't have another "runway star" search. I want models walking on that runway, not some girl who probably can't walk or even make the outfit great.

they need to cut it down to 30 minutes, leave out all the stuff that doesn't need to be aired (model search, anything Heidi that is not really part of the show, the slow-mo introduction of the angels).

^I think the introduction to the angels is fine. I say, take off the freaking slow motion and put a normal, straight runway ... these two are important.

have any of you have been keeping tabs on the Miss Universe pageant? They do national costumes and I have to say Miss USA's costume has been ripping VS off lately. The 2008 costume looked like a copy of Heidi's closing wings in the 2007 show. And this years outfit looks EXACTLY like Alessandra's first segment wings in the 2008 show. I will post pictures when I have time!

i know the 2010 pics are horrible size/quality but those are literally the only two pictures of her costume I could find. Discuss!

I'm not sure if VS has any patent/trademarks on the wings, though. Or maybe they do and allowed the USA pageant to use the same designs? I remember that pic of the snowflake wing in the newspaper and I was like "those are Heidi's wings!"
