gawkerLindsay Lohan Poised to Make Millions by Going to Jail
![]()
Lindsay Lohan is reportedly angling for $1 million for her first post-jail interview, and going to prison could end up boosting sales of her clothing line, too. "Financially, it's the best thing that could have ever happened to Lindsay."
Lately, Lindsay's main sources of income have been paid appearances and tweeting for cash, which pay no more than a few thousand a pop. But jailhouse confessions? Those are really worth something. Paris Hilton was reportedly offered $1 million for hers. (But ultimately gave it away for free to Larry King.) Popeater's Rob Shuter reports,
"Expect to see a major TV and magazine deal," a source close to Lindsay tells me. "Lindsay might have made a lot of mistakes, but she knows how much her first interview is worth. She won't even consider offers of less than $1 million."Of course, they won't literally be paying for the interview—as is de rigueur for American checkbook journalism, she will technically be paid for some sort of primary material (video confessionals?) so the interview can remain "unpaid."
Meanwhile, Women's Wear Daily's Marcy Medina reports that retailers are stocking up on apparel from Lindsay's 6126 leggings line.
"Lindsay has mind share right now, so people will be interested to see what the merchandise looks like," said Jeff Vansinderen, a senior retail analyst at B. Riley & Co. "Times are tough right now in the retail environment and if I'm a retailer, I'm going to put the merchandise out there and try to sell it."
"This is a hard incident, and we don't know how the consumer is going to react," said Fraser Ross, owner of Kitson stores, who ordered about $15,000 worth of 6126 apparel for this month. He acknowledged that Lohan could get out of jail in as few as 23 days "as the clothes are hitting stores and there will be interest in her."Once she has all her post-prison money, LiLo can blow it all on a massive c*** bender, go to jail for that, give more interviews and reap more profits, and—whoops! Looks like we've fallen into a vortex of infinite regression, degradation, and debauchery. This process is also known as "show business."
radaronlineThe name of Lindsay Lohan's new attorney will be announced Friday, one day after her previous lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, quit as LiLo's legal counsel, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.
And despite some reports that the Mean Girls star, 24, has hired Tiffany Feder-Cohen to represent her, Lohan's camp says that's not true.
In an exclusive statement to RadarOnline.com, Stephanie Ovadia, the attorney for Lindsay's mom Dina, tells us, "Tiffany Feder-Cohen is not Lindsay's attorney and never was. She is just a good friend who is helping out. Lindsay's new attorney will be announced today."
As RadarOnline.com reported exclusively, Holley quit on Thursday after discovering that Lindsay's team was shopping around for new representation after she was sentenced on Tuesday to 90 days in jail followed by 90 days in rehab for violating conditions of her probation related to her 2007 DUI conviction.
They're stocking up on her clothes because she is going to jail?? I'm missing something here.

etonline.comDina Lohan Exclusive: 'Lindsay's Scared to Death'
![]()
"Lindsay's scared to death," Dina Lohan tells Entertainment Tonight's Samantha Harris in her only interview since daughter Lindsay was sentenced to three months in jail on Tuesday in a Beverly Hills court.
The interview was conducted Thursday afternoon in Entertainment Tonight's Studio City, Calif. offices. The conversation was emotional, with Dina stopping several times as she broke down in tears. Can Lindsay survive jail? Dina says, "You know, she's strong, but until someone faces something as devastating as that...we're going to have to see." "God willing," she adds, "it won't happen."
Dina tells Entertainment Tonight exclusively, that Lindsay is currently consulting new legal counsel and hoping to file an appeal before her court-mandated jail term, no later than July 20. "She's a fighter, and until the final result -- we're not giving up." Continuing on, "I think it's time we get another attorney just to see it from another light and do damage control." Dina says she and Lindsay spend hours each day on their own reviewing court documents, case law and information about the Los Angeles jail system.
Of the "ambush" in court, Dina says Lindsay was "completely blindsided." Lindsay believes she was in complete compliance with the terms of her parole and that the outcome of the day in court was to be the removal of her SCRAM bracelet. Dina speaks out against Judge Marsha Revel for allowing the proceedings to be televised and making a "spectacle" of her daughter, saying, "This is not an OJ Simpson trial, which they made it out to be."
Furthermore, Dina questions Judge Revel's fairness in the hearing, saying, "If she wants a trial, then make it a fair trial. I feel like Shawn [Chapman Holley], Lindsay's [former] attorney should have stood up and said, 'Listen, I didn't know you were going to have witnesses.' We would have had ten witnesses. We didn't get a shot. We didn't get a shot at fairness."
As for the mood in Lindsay's home over the past 48 hours, Dina says, "It's very difficult, we're not sleeping well, we're not functioning. We cry a lot and we hug a lot. She's petrified, we all are. We're angry. We're disappointed in the system."
Dina says that although she believes Lindsay should not be in rehab today, she doesn't condone the behavior that landed her daughter in trouble with the law in 2007, saying, "She did a really stupid thing. Thank God she didn't hurt anyone….I know my daughter is clean and sober today. I know that for a fact. I'm not a doctor…and I'm not an attorney. I'm a mother. And I'm sitting here, as a mother, just worried about my child."
The Dina Lohan exclusive, "Lindsay Through Her Mother's Eyes," begins airing Friday only on Entertainment Tonight.
And Fox News just had three lawyers on to discuss it all...They asked 'Is there any chance of her overturning the jail term?" and the one guy said "Is there something less than Zero Chance??"
