Lindsay Lohan's Lawyer seeks private meeting with judge, DA vows to fight any appeal.
Lindsay Lohan is set to go to jail within hours and her attorney Robert Shapiro is trying one last attempt to get her out of it, asking for a private meeting with Judge Revels, according to RadarOnline.com.
The meeting, which is a break in protocal without the DA being present, took place Monday afternoon, July 19, behind closed doors. This has infuriated the Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Danette Myers.
"I have two things to say about that,' DA Myers said,'first, she had done an in-patient rehab program before--and it didn't work."
"Secondly, Judge Revel has already sentenced her. She needs to do the time. Jail is the only thing that is going to get her attention," the DA stated.
Myers was notified by Judge Revels office of the meeting, however, due to being in court elsewhere, she did not get the notification until after the meeting had taken place, when she returned to her office.
"If Mr. Shapiro wants to meet, he should have notified me," DA Myers stated, "I never got any notice that there was a meeting scheduled in chambers, so I didn't appear. I was in court all afternoon and didn't get the message until I got back to my office around 4:30 p.m."
When asked if Lindsay Lohan's attorney Shapiro could have gotten the judge to agree that Lindsay not go to jail, DA Myers agreed it could happen, but added, "I don't believe it would be fruitful and my office will file a response."
