Thrilled about the Asian girls! Been waiting anxiously for news...

I really hope that's not Shanina practising her pose...it's the second photo I've seen of her from rehearsal doing that! I'd rather see way too many kisses on the runway than a fish mouth.

This is one of the best castings VS has ever had. confused about no arlenis but this year is very diverse. Liu wen really broke barriers and gave more asian girls a shot. Super exciteddd!

I wish they would look into some of the other models with asian backgrounds who could give the white models with sexy, athletic bodies a run for their money. Like Hana Mayeda, Aline Nakashima and Jarah Mariano. It just kills me when I see negative generalizations about asians and "asian bodies" on blogs like ONTD. The current girls don't really fight against it as I see people using pictures from last years show to reinforce some horrible stereotypes.

I simply cannot wrap my head around why someone like Jac Jab and Dorothea would get chosen over the likes of Maryna, Arlenis, Bianca Balti, Emiliy Didonto, Magda, Eniko, and Cintia ughh

There are so few spots, so EVERY girl truly counts. There aren't any spots to waste. Hilary is by far the superstar new face this year though! I can't remember the last time a huge, established HF top model walked their show for the first time. It would be like Daria W walking the show. Who knows, maybe Hilary's time with VS will blossom into something bigger...

they've been pushing Pink because it saved the brand so it's a no brainer, but I think they're starting to alienate their non-Pink consumer and that's where someone like Hilary comes in.

I cant find Shu Pei attractive being honest. With two asian stunners like Liu and Sui He I will be more than pleased. I would cast Arlenis instead, she is a hardworker, and desserve this year spot more than other new girls who barely bring sexy to the show and haven't worked all year shooting for the catalog.

Yup. There's going to be a lot of negative stuff going on the blogs. I know Sophia N loves her. But it's like casting Wang Xiao in the show. Shu Pei has always looked the way Anja R has been looking recently. And I know there will be lots of people using it as an opportunity to stereotype asians...

I wish Arlenis would do the show too!!! She's so bubbly with a great spirit and I think a lot of young girls can identify with her.

Yes but unfortunately she is like...31? 32? She's making her way into acting in China.

She's super tall and has an amazonian body with incredible muscle tone, some womanly curves and sleek lines. I think she is really underrated and people have forgotten about her since her prime was many many years ago.
I wish she did the VS shows back in her prime but asian models weren't the "it" look at that moment even though she was quite successful and broke down many barriers for the future girls like Liu Wen.
