These contentious and very famous exes wound up at the same party, literally within a few feet of each other. That's a very poorly worded BI. I got hte impression that the comment about the ex and the snarky comment about the other actress were unrelated (e.g., Original Actress hates them both, but one is an ex and the other is a professional rival), so probably not lesbians. Unless the snarky comment about the other actress was because Other Actress had something to do with busting up Original Actress' relationship. In which case, still not lesbians (probably), but at least that results in less "WTF? Why is this in this BI?"

Away from the cameras, he was quite furious about it. However, he soon realized that there’s no legal way to fight a blind joke.

On the other hand, the wife actually thought that the joke was hilarious, and had a difficult time not reacting in her husband’s presence. While she’s glad that she’s held up her end of the bargain, she can’t be held responsible for other people chipping away at her husband’s reputation. Their relationship has been over for months now, and she is just counting the days left on her contract, at which point she can cash out and move on.

The obvious guess would be Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes being asked about Ricky Gervais' joke on "famous Scientologists" but have they been out together lately?
