^ Dina still looks like the girl I would most like to bring home from the bar on Saturday night...
This is interesting- being there seems to be no basis for an appeal, next best thing is to have her sentence reduced to like, I don't know, maybe one day...
Lindsey Lohan's New Lawyer Robert Shapiro, What Can He Do?
Former O.J. Simpson attorney, Robert Shapiro, confirmed that he was hired by Lindsey Lohan to represent her in her probation violation. A Substitution of Attorney document filed in court on Friday confirms this as well.
Lohan's former attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, resigned after Lohan's sentencing, allegedly because Lohan was determined to appeal. Lohan has been reportedly having temper tantrums vowing that she will not go to jail.
What makes this interesting is that suddenly Lohan has secured the services of Robert Shapiro, who agreed to represent her on the condition that she complies with the, "requirement of jail time that was imposed by Judge Marsha Revel."
Robert Shapiro got his break when he represented Johnny Carson in a DUI way back in the day. Since then, Shapiro has been known as a plea bargainer. He is not a litigator, or it never gets to that point anyway in many of his cases. In that vain, it is no surprise that Mr. Shapiro has no plans to appeal the judgment.
However, if I am a betting woman, I would bet that he is garnering likability for Lohan by vowing that she serves jail time. However, he will work like heck to get her jail time reduced.
Mr. Shapiro is very well connected with prosecutors and judges. As such, part of his value is his ability to pull strings within the system.
Last time Ms. Lohan was sentenced, she served just a few minutes in jail due to jail overcrowding. However
, I think that Mr. Shapiro will attempt to have her spend a few days there before sending her off to an extended rehab in accordance with the sentencing for her to stay in an in-treatment rehab facility. Probably not coincidental is that Lohan is currently staying in a rehab facility founded by Shapiro, which he founded after his son's d**g overdose death in 2005.
Ms. Lohan has lost public support and created more legal problems for herself by failing to show remorse when she painted expletives on her fingernails to flash during the court sentencing.
