Stella McCartney for H&M #1

I am glad you had better experiences in Soho. I too, was there, and this girl with really bleached out hair, and a pig nose and body, with lots of black eye make up grabbed something RIGHT out of my hand, as if she didn't already have one of each item already.

Oh my goodness. When were you there I think I saw this girl.

I heard that someone "jumped" one of the security guards. What does that mean?

Jumped is to beat someone up. Goodness that is so horrific. I really was lucky people were pushy and grabby but no physical altercations. I can't believe people are acting this way over clothes. No outfit is worth getting into a fight over.

tbh the stella mccartney collection is "not" that nice to be crazy about
:S:S:S:S

Oh please, all of this chaos for Stella McCartney? It puzzles me where this popularity came from since I overheard people (in line) saying: 'Who is this Stella?' 'She is a famous designer'... seems the H&M marketing machine even works for people who don't know her, if only her flagship stores would be this busy, she is still not making a profit for the Gucci Group.

That's probably why they had 2 police officers in the store.

wow.. people don't know her and can still go nuts about her clothing?

I just called the 3 h&ms in my city.. and guess what? "completely sold out".. and aren't planning to restock anything at all.. i'm a little shocked!

(the SAs sounded completely exhausted except for one who seemed to be a little over caffienated:P )

i went today at 4:30 (couldnt go early). i ran there and i'm like to the guy we pretty much sold out 5 mins after the store opened this morning.. except for a few bikins and the ugly chain purse. i was in SHOCK (and super disapointed).

what an absolute madd ness!made me think ,why do all these people want to have this soo bad:Probably because these clothes are desiged by a famous designer and cost a dime compaired to her own label....why do people want to have designer stuff:to be exclusive,to wear something that states them as diffrent, more unique,am i right??...tomorrow al these hmstella people will see eachother at work,or meet as friends and all wearing the same thing, all looks the same in away...sorry,i just do not get it:shock:

I was there just as the end of the line walked in and I happened to walk by at the exact moment and walked in.
She was short and had SOOOO many items. She is lucky I didn't deck her! lol...I was not about to be part of a fight for a shirt ( and believe me I'm tough) She was so pathetic...and definitely hoarding clothes and rolling through the crowd and seperating it, like a gigantic bowling ball! lol

ha ha, I just had the most groundong down to earth moment about this whole deal

I tried on the champaigne sweater with the satin trim to show my wonderful hubby... and he just looked at me shocked and said "wow, that's sooooo 80's, it's like what my mom would wear 20 years ago" and he kinda scrunched up his face

I loved it... with all the hype I got this great reality check from an honest observer who doesn't care about trends or brands

 :D

anyone in Toronto want the sweater in a small before I return it??

i arrived at my local h&m at 5 minutes before opening. there was already a line a hundred people long. lots of pushing shoving and crowding. i regret not bringing a friend with me for the whole buddy system. that really proved to be a mistake.
there were hardly any dresses there and no zip up long sweater which is what i really wanted.
also no camisole and knickers either.
and now brown suit jacket or brown pants.
no bow sweater belted jacket either.
i ended up getting the XS olive trench (i may end up returning it, its awfully billowy)
the blue sweater
the black wide leg pants
the pink horse keychain
the pink printed cotton t shirt for 35 (which is really nice)
im not sure what im going to return yet. im sad that i missed out on my dream items.
oh, i also picked up the jeans in size 8. they ran small and a bit too long!
im going to have to wear 4 inch heels with these! ridiculous!

do you think the h&m kate moss scandal actually made the line more well known and thus contributed to the mobs of people?

im thinking it made the situation worse.

if i dont get the items i want i think im going to be less likely to shop at h&m and hold a grudge against them.

i hope the stores replenish soon.

they would be wise to do so.
people are jut gong to get more pissed off if they cant get what they want.

how scary this all sounds... i didn't go near an h&m store today, but i saw customers with unusually large h&m bags walking around triumphantly... how exhausting... they spend all this time promoting a collection that's only available in stores for about an hour.

I just came back from the 5th Ave store. It was pure insanity. Much worse than the video. At one point (around 11:00am) a woman cut/stabbed another woman, while shouting:"That's mine!" . I didn't see it personally since it was total chaos, but I did hear staff over the walkies shouting for someone to call an ambulance. Followed by screams to do a lock down. Someone even said:" Search the bags of people who're leaving." Not sure if it's for the weapon or stolen merchandise.

If anyone on tfs is going to the store, please ask the staff and give us more details.

I must have spent over 2 hours in the store 'cos they were bringing out new stuff every half hour. I'm going to the other store at 34th Street & 7th Ave tomorrow.

Ha. This is why i love new york. Pure insanity. A few of my friends even skipped school to go to the 7th ave one. People need to really chill out, it's not that serious. I also saw this girl on the train swinging around 5 H&M bags and like constantly looking into them making sure everything was still there. LOL it was like it was too good to be true and she was dreaming or something. I'm scared to go there tomorrow. I'll probably be crowd-surfing in the store as if it's a mosh pit or something from what i'm hearing :D

at the macys in herald square i saw a gaggle of women waiting for people to return stella stuff! at 6 pm!

ridiculous.

by 10:30 am the h&m staff in boston were taking down the stella banners and signs. i guess they didnt want to encourage people!

I don't really see how H& can ake a big profit out of this, I mean production as everything as meowmix said...

I almost tinink it cost as much to advertise from what they sell, and it is limited..

ABSOLUTELY.

It even added a bit of rock'n'roll and cool to Stella, by association... Not that I'm saying drugs are cool, but the selfdestructing lifestyle asociated with them is fascinating. Fascinating like a traffic accident: you shouldn't look but can't help to be curious about what happened and what will happen...

How terrible things went in other stores! I was really lucky, I guess. Everybody was so polite here in Salzburg. No body contact, no harsh words, somebody even asked me: "Excuse me, is this yours?".

I also had the impression that most of the women only chose the pieces they really wanted. Not like 'grabbing the last piece of bread'. How awful and disgraceful!

Over all it worked out well for me, meaning the original intention (besides increasing both parties turnover) to make Stella's design accessible to a broader public. I couldn't have cared less for her designs before and never would have attempted to try on her clothes. Of course, the quality of the real thing may be higher, but to have the chance to feel how everything is cut and intended really changed my mind about Stella McCartney. I will keep my eyes on her future designs now. Not all may be for me, but that's the way fashion goes.

Same here! Pretty much exactly.

jeez...

the stores in sf open a week from saturday, and the collection will be here...

guess people should start sleeping out now...wearing hard hats as the construction continues...

Yeah, the Chicago store has re-done all their windows with different stuff.

I just stopped by after work and it was still crazy with people grabbing things. For the most part though the cut of the clothes is terrible. I tried two of the jackets in various sizes but they all looked frumpy and the denim skirts with the zips at the side were a bit...tacky. The STELLA keychain was fun and the t-shirt like the staff were wearing (but in blue) hung nicely so I got those but overall it was just disappointing (IMO).
