Style.com's Top Ten New Faces - F/W 07.08

Although this season we did have Tanya Chubko and Margaret Peppey, who both had the bangs and everything.

But I notice that Rachel has grown her bangs out most of the way, Alison's are growing out...that was one thing that I think deserved to go away.

About Georgia though, her absence from Milan was surprising considering she was in the Alberta Feretti and Dolce & Gabbana campaigns. Yet I think she'll be a shoo-in for the list only because she had a good NY season and she didn't do TOO badly in London plus the 4 SS 07 campaigns may just add to that.

Diana Moldovan is definitely a sure lock though!

I think Sheila Marquez was gorgeous at Gucci.. it'll be intresting to see what Paris does with her.

And if Catherine McNeil can have even just a "decent" Paris season she is almost a lock for a spot in the top 10, she is the top Newbie I think in Milan, opened up many many shows. Eventhough she was not at Prada.. lots of girls weren't at Prada, there are many girls who are on the top who never do Prada and there are many many girls who do Prada and never get to the top.

I like Catherine and Sheila, they are both gorgeous and harken back to the days of DDG (drop-dead-gorgeous) models

I think that's a diss at Agyness, but whatever, she was working way before her haircut. Just because someone has a funky haircut and cool style doesn't mean that's the only reason they're working :P

Of course a haircut isn't all it takes, and it wasn't a diss at Agyness, I was just making fun of the phenomenon in general.

I daresay that Agyness would never have made the move from Nylon to Vogue if it wasn't for her successful makeover, though. And you can't deny that haircuts, especially, launched and re-launched unusually many models' careers over the past couple of seasons.

Catherine's Paris showlist is going to look something like this:

Balmain
Asturo Tayama
Viktor & Rolf
Valentino
Jean Paul Gaultier
Dior
Lagerfeld

The source is from an interview Catherine did :flower:

^That definetly locks her a place in the top ten...that and she is so beautiful

I agree completely! The minute she showed up in Milan I knew she had a lock. She's got everything working for her: great representation, new appeal, killer runway body, and a refreshing attitude. She's definitely one of the girls I have as locks at this point:

Hot/Lock List :woot: :
Catherine McNeil, Kasia Struss, Irina Kulikova, Olga Sherer, Johanna Jonsson, Johanna Strickland.

Watch/Good Odds List B) :
Carolina Pantoliano, Laragh McCann, Diana Moldovan, Sheila Marquez, Danielle Hamm, Georgia Frost

I found out i really dont like Georgia on the runway. I love her in print she is so great but catwalk images dont do her justice...
Catherine rocks!!!!LOVE her!!! She is the star girl of the season that is for sure! She got everything under her belt (besides Prada :D but she doesnt have to care).

Great list though i would add some more girls on the watch list but where is Alyona??? She is so cool on the runway i like her way better than Johanna Stickland. I keep my fingers crossed for her... i would definitely pick her over Johanna S. and mybe even Jonsson.

Talk about Georgia...where is she  She disappeared after NYC!

I would say its not just us who doesnt like to see her on the runway :innocent: . There is too many better runway girls in Europe. Milan was very weak - i was so surprised she didnt even do the shows though she is featured in their campaign -weird. In Paris i saw her only at Martin Margiela show and thats about it.

John, in terms of Aloyna, I think she's stunning, I really do. However, I noticed her presence on the runway last season. That's why I haven't put her on my lists for this season. I could be completely wrong in my assertion that she's somewhat "ineligable," but the offical Style.com list did that with Daiane and Han last season.

Poor Georgia, at once the only lock in my books, and now she's moved to only having a good shot. I don't understand what happened to her momentum...but I remember saying in her thread that I hope she didn't become another Tayla Collins, one-trick-pony, and I probably should have knocked on wood.

^ This is Alyona's first full season, though, since she was Prada and Miu Miu exclusive last season. I'm not sure she will make the list (I hope so ), but if not I don't think because she appeared last season. So did Johanna, Diana, Kasia, Laragh..

Olga Sherer is definitely ineligible in terms of seasons, her debut was I think SS05, and she has for instance been doing Dolce & Gabbana every season since SS06. But I'm sure they will put her on list since this is her major brekthrough.

^She wasn't on exclusive last season. She might have been for Milan, but she walked a ton of shows in NYC and Paris. Just read through her thread. To be honest, I would love to have her on the list cause I think she's amazing, but I just don't think it will happen, unfortunately.

As for Olga, yes technically she is completely ineligible, but I feel like its bound to happen. It was a HUGE breakthrough season for her. She opened Marc and now Dior and was at all the right shows.

^ She only did NYC (and London). She was exclusive for Prada in Milan and for Miu Miu in Paris.

Yes, that's what I meant with not a full season. Alyona did a few good NYC shows, but I don't think she was more visible than for instance Stickland who did the same in Paris. But it all depends how style.com think of course. :flower:

Maybe they will go back to doing repeats (and threepeats) so we'll all be fooled.

She was also at Commes des Garcons and Vivienne Westwood.

^She was also at Karl Lagerfeld today...which is definitely a slight boost, and should secure her being at Chanel. Which could be good enough to keep her spot, but its all so up in the air at this point.

Catherine has booked all of the big shows in Paris so far...
Will she be the "it" girl of Paris? It sure seems like it.
