Sui He on the other hand would never work as an Angel, granted she's solid in print and on the runway but put her on Good Morning America & ask her to sell a bra and it would be like watching a train wreck.

They never have ALL the Angel at once on a interview so for US they could use their usual roaster and Sui He would be for China market for instance. They could have various Angel line-up depending on the zone if they wanted to. Not sure how well VS is implemented out of America though.

From a design and marketing production perspective, that doesn't work at all. VS is an American brand that sells an American aesthetic. Lingerie is different across the world and each culture has their own preferences. For instance, VS is very different from the lingerie that sells well in Europe (Chantelle, Princesse Tam Tam etc). The size range is also different. Asia is a whole different ball game in that what sells in the Asian lingerie market is very very different from what VS produces and it is not cost effective for even a company like VS to roll out a completely different type of design production.

I agree with some posters above that VS needs to bring back girls who can fill out a bikini and the typical full coverage VS lace bra (think unlined Body by Victoria) without multiple chicken cutlets and tape. I'm not talking Kate Upton types but someone with that Samantha Gradoville versatility. Athletic and va va voom--that's what the general public conjures when they think of "VS model." I recently did some extensive shopping at the stores and the majority of their bras are actually not push-up or padded so those high fashion girls are heavily accessorized in the shows.

There's already a few VS Beauty & Accessories stores in Asia (not including the ones in airports). From what Martin Waters has said they are using these stores to introduce the VS brand in hopes of integrating lingerie eventually. theBlueRider is right about what sells in the Asian lingerie market is different from what VS produces. That is not to say VS should not attempt to introduce lingerie into the Asian market, but if that's the direction they want to go they need to be very strategic.

A unique thing about the Asian market is brands don't necessarily need Asian models in their campaigns & etc. in order to do well. However, it wouldn't really hurt for language reasons especially if the models are required to promote products heavily.

^^Part of that strategy would be a cost on producing a completely new and different size range, shapes, forms and fitting factors. VS bands are very stretchy and start at a 32 whereas band sizes like 60, 65 (28, 30) are the norm in the Asian lingerie market and the market demands a snugger fit (even a 32 in an Asian brand is much, much tighter than an American 32). Oftentimes the bras have wide side panels and side boning which is completely unseen in the American market.

And just to add another observation, the blond models in VS are pretty universal and would translate well to any market including South America, Asia etc. Candice, Martha and Erin have that baby doll blond look that is pretty much loved everywhere (and does especially well in Asia). That could be a pretty big reason why those types of girls populate VS marketing so often.

But from an American perspective, I'd love to see more 'exotic' girls with a bombshell body as that appeals to Americans.

Search data to find out which Victoria's Secret Angels people were searching for. We've listed them here in order of overall search popularity, and included how much their search traffic increased in the week preceding the show.

Imh.. They need to get Behati out. Her body to me is the least sexy out of all of them and she's very plain.

I'm in love with Karlie for VS. I feel like she actually adds diversity. Her body and her facial expressions in the ads and runway are amazing. She just needs to tone it down the same Adriana does.

As for the asian model who every one hopes will happen. I actually Ming Xi would be a better choice than Sui He.

Now i might be going crazy here, but i also feel like Saskia would make an amazing choice as well..

^^I think Ming Xi is more relatable and with a far better body than Sui. Sui just has a very pretty face but below the face and For catalog work and swim, you can't be covered up like in the show.

But I don't think people should be rushing into these models as there is probably a girl out there who is more suitable as markets open up (with the face, healthy, athletic, voluptuous body). I know tfs fans are ravenous but they need to be realistic. It makes me miss the days of Jarah Mariano...

You got me thinking about some other up and coming fashion stars. Ophelie Guillermand: She has a tomboy beauty in her face like Gisele and Daria W but an incredible body. She already did some VS catalog.

Sui He is beautiful, but she doesn't have enough sex appeal to be an angel imo. If I had to pick an Asian angel, I'd pick Liu Wen. She has those bedroom eyes, yet can be cute & innocent looking when she wants to be. Of course she won't be an angel, seeing that she didn't even walk this year's show, but she's still the best choice.

As I mentioned before I don't think it is necessary for VS to have an Asian Angel but I would be ecstatic if they did! If not as Angels, at least have more Asian models in their catalogs, visual marketing, and maybe PR promos (similar to what Toni and Bregje has done).

As for language skills, when Adriana, Ale and Gisele first started their English were not that great but with time they developed a better understanding of the language (this more applies to Ale and Gisele). Also, VS coach their Angels prior to presenting them to the public, and part of it is providing ESL classes for those who need it.

I'm not a Sui He fan, so I've only heard her talk in this one interview they did with the girls backstage at the show. Not going to lie, her interview was pretty awkward to watch.
