Victoria's Secret Etc, Etc (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

Do you guys think they were ever prepping Jessica Stam for an Angel contract? First off, her first show for them (2006) was probably one of the most prominent with 3 outfits, a pair of wings, and the opening spot for PINK. Then for 2007 and 2010, she had two looks and a pair of wings each year. She was also in their catalogues a lot. Plus, she did this press conference with the angels in 2010

or was she just a non-angel favorite? What do y'all think?

IIRC, that was the first year the show was broadcast on Canadian TV and she was the only Canadian who got cast for the show. I think she was put there for the sole purpose of attracting the Canadian press attention.

Which models have actually declined a VS contract?
I assume Isabeli at some point was offered one and declined it. She could make more money without VS.
Wasn't Daria W. up for a VS contract and she/her team chose Lancome instead.
Ana Beatriz Barros- I thought she was once up for a contract but it didn't work out?
Were Oluchi and Emanuela de Paula ever up for contracts? I always thought it was a mistake VS never signed them.

VSFS was broadcast in Canada since 2001. I watched it in my dorm room in Halifax that year. :)

I would think most models wouldn't decline VS contracts, since there are few things that garner more noterity and money

Does anyone else think Behati was totally channeling Gisele vibes when she opened? If only she had not smirked at all and walked with just a bit more confidence, it would have been a perfect opening.

No, not at all. Gisele's openings were fierce (I know, that's very 2008 of me) but that's the perfect word to describe them. She's a good walker, she knows how to stomp the runway and her ignoring Justin Timberland in 2006 was the ultimate badass moment.

similar to miscasts, I was just in the Etro ad campaign thread and Anna Jadgozinska is featured in it. I thought she was a great addition. the face, the body, the mischievous smile she gave when she posed at the end of the runway. Who are the other one hit wonders?

Isabeli, Natasha, Ana Beatriz.. These are all rumored girls to have declined a contract with the company..

To the one hit wonders:
Frida Gustavsson is the only girl off the top of my head

Morgane was very much PINK material and very cute. Her poses and walk was always on the spot. I preferred her more than Andi Muise.

Also, Michaela was amazing on the VSFS runway. When she opened that one segment in 2007 i thought she did great.

Was Eugenia Volodina a one hit wonder? God she would have made a great VS angel. She looked breathtaking during that Russian segment with the remixed snoop dog "drop it like its hot". Hell, everyone in that segment did.

I seriously doubt this is true. Isabeli has always been a star of the VSFS, but she's never been a mainstay in their catalogues. Ana BB would have been a fool to turn down a VS contract. She's gorgeous and she would've been great - but it's not like she had a massive high fashion career to deter her from signing with VS. Makes no sense. Natasha ... maybe. Though what would she have opted for instead?

For example, VS was in negotiations with Daria back in 2004, but she chose to go with Lancome contract instead of VS (probably a wise decision on her part, for the kind of career she wanted). But Natasha? She's certainly landed a huge number of campaigns throughout her career - but does she have a single contract that could have beaten out a VS one? I can't think of any.

Ana BB wanted to get a VS contract, but VS kept stringing her along so her management decided to have her do J Lo's lingerie line instead and that upset the VS executives. Honestly, I don't understand what model would refuse a VS contract unless she didn't want to be in the public eye.

Just as an update, part two of the swim project starts shooting tomorrow, and so far the confirmed models in PR are Joan (Ed commented on her instagram), Ale, and Lily.

The girls i've mentioned were girls i've read to have been rumored. Not known for fact.

And for Natasha, VS wasn't as friendly to the high fashion clients as it is now (thanks to Prada in my honest opinion). What was rumored of Natasha was that she wanted to stay a high fashion girl.

oh yes, Frida G & Karmen P, both great models who fit VS perfectly, and yet they continually book girls like Jacquelyn J (good model, but quite frankly I'm getting bored of her in the show). Also, Martha Streck, I kinda liked her in the show even though she's questionable as a VS fit.

^Arlenis Sosa and Anne V was just in PR shooting together:woot:, so I'm guessing they're probably apart of it^_^
