Alesandra imo is perfect for VS. She isn't the classical cosmetic beauty that Doutzen or Valentina is and IMO her face isn't perfectly symmetrical and timeless like them but she has the sultry , hot factor that few models can compare to.. just saying.. no one in the new crop of angels rivals that 'sex factor' .

well there was that rumour that "a certain major american company has stopped signing those ultra-lucrative, ultra-exclusive contracts" remember reading that? it's probably in this thread somewhere.

i think VS is over the "Angels". they haven't created a bonafide supermodel since Tyra and Heidi and Laetitia.. and that was a different time. the 90s were all about the supermodel. (Gisele was a fashion supermodel first and Leo DiCaprio's girlfriend second and VS Angel third. Adriana and Ale are very famous and successful, but not like Tyra and Heidi. KK was a fashion supermodel first, then a VS Angel and it didn't really help her career, imo)

i think VS realizes that the exclusivity of having a certain girl only do your work isn't really beneficial. Miranda and Ale are at their MOST famous right now, because of their recent work with high fashion. giving those girls their freedom to do other projects is beneficial to both, because it ups the model's profile, which in turn, brings more attention to her work for VS. but it also works for VS because they can pay less money to have the girls contracted, but not exclusively. that's why we have Emanuela, Chanel, Candice, Rosie, Erin, Arlenis, Behati, etc etc. all these contracted "Angels", but not in the same way that VS had ANGELS in the past.

Except Adriana, Alessandra, Doutzen and miranda all still have their ANGEL contracts, the same way they did 5 years ago. They aren't handing them out hardly anymore, but the girls that had them before still have them.

i also think that by having the girls exclusively isnt really benefiting anyone.i remember when dri would do maybeline i loved those campaigns it was perfect for her .then when vs signed her to the beauty brand its not the same.i understand she gets more money but i dont think it helped her brand.

So true, especially internationally. We don't have VS here in Europe, but at least with Maybelline, Adriana was still featured in TV ads, billboards, and displays in stores. Without Maybelline, she's pretty much non-existent here.

I don't know if this is the right thread to ask but the casting for this show when and where are? Or the casting already was? I'm very curious about it, i know casting for shows during fashion weeks are usually 2-3 days before the show, but with a vs fashion show i dude it. Thank u again

They'll do it next month. They've already had the show in Miami and La and have just come back to NYC where they originated. Plus it will be interesting to see the pre-show events this year like they do every year.

I also wonder if they will tape a bunch of intro stuff and scrap it at the last minute

as a show filler, i personally would like to see how the show comes together. you know i am a sucker for that kind of stuff. so during 2005 with Gisele is explaining the catwalk and 2008 when the designers are explaining the process and logistics, I was in heaven.

It would be also interesting if they did some sort of model diary with the Angels and other models with preparations and stuff. Or kind of like when a girl finds out she made the VSFS, like 2003 but when she's a legit model.

No.....they were talking about the bombshell tour they were doing at the time. And No they were not really using a bus.
