Update... Barbara Fialho said that the show this year is the best show VS ever put together, and there's an exciting surprise. Some fans speculated some veteran angels from the past may be coming back, but I doubt it. Again, we'll have to wait and see.

There was also a DM floating around with Candice and a fanpage she follows on Instagram, where she said there would be a surprise in the show as well, but Candice liked a comment on a post saying the DM was fake. Candice has confirmed herself she'll be back at the show this year.

RUMOR: Castings will be in August this year. Cindy also liked a comment asking if the castings would be sooner than usual on IG.

^ It's not a rumour. It was confirmed a week ago by Devon (a fitting model) and Sophia. Maggie Laine said in her IG livestream today that castings will be August 17th and 18th.

Thank you, vivalakenna! I'm guessing because they delayed the show so late last year, they learned (the hard way) it's better to do things sooner. Reminder that the editors only had 5 days to edit the show before it aired, which explains why the editing at times seemed choppy and fast-paced... I'm excited to see how this quick approach works. It gives everyone more time to really perfect the show.

Why so soon?

There were rumors that the show could be in China this year. I'm assuming they are doing the castings earlier because of visa issues. They want to be sure that every girl could go there as China is known to be "harsh" when it comes to visa issues.

Yeah, I guess the visa preps is the main reason why the casting will be early. I hope that VSFS will keep this formula of going to different countries every year because that is actually the reason I still want to watch this year's show. But we want something significantly different. Not like the London & Paris shows where they were just basically the same show and could have been done anywhere in the world - what a waste of money.


As for the surprise they're promising, not buying it! Every year they always said that it will be their biggest or the most exciting show but the show have been flopped since like, 2013.

And yes, Sui He or Ming Xi should be a contract-angel this year!

What do guys think of the competition looking for a girl to walk the VSFS? They've done it before and it didn't work in my opinion.. I hope they make it better this year.

No to any competitions. Just a terrible idea. They should focus on making better wings. A lot of last year's were not memorable at all.

VS Veterans confirmed to be going to the casting: Bridget Malcolm, Grace Elizabeth, Kelly Gale, Megan Puleri, Cindy Mello, Frida Aasen (hasn't walked a show but has worked with VS multiple times), Xiao Wen Ju, Daniela Braga, Cindy Bruna, Barbara Fialho, Devon Windsor, Maria Borges, Luma Grothe, Flavia Lucini, Maggie Laine, Zuri Tibby and Rachel Hilbert.

Chances are multiple non-angels will also make the show without doing the casting. Last year, these girls included Barbara Fialho, Cindy Bruna, Devon Windsor, Irina Shayk, Kendall Jenner, GiGi Hadid, and Rachel Hilbert, as well as Karlie Kloss (former angel), Constance Jablonski and Cara Delevingne, who ended up not doing the show.

If she doesn't get an invite to go without going to the castings, I'm almost positive she'll go to castings and make it in the list the following year. The team seemed to really like her last year.

I doubt Grace and Zuri have to go, same with the fitting models. The info is either confirmed by them, their photos (most VS girls tend to post lots of workout pics right before the castings), their agency, or their own knowledge of the casting. Xiao Wen is also a coach for the iSupermodel contest, so I'm pretty sure she might not have to go either, or if she is, she'll almost definitely be confirmed for this year.

I agree, I still have trouble believing her angel contract lasted only one year (same with Jac!)
