damnit! all this action in Canada and none of it in VANCOUVER!!! come to this city, Angels!!! we need you!!

i'd be extreeeeeeeeeemely surprised if anything has changed re: Ale. she's been so incredible for VS for so many years now. and it's not as if her time has come and gone -- she's basically just had her most successful modeling year ever. i think, if anything, she's just changed her contract slightly to allow her to do more high fashion work. but we'll definitely see her at the VSFS and she'll definitely be a big part of promotion (at least i hope so!)

i would love it if there were a ton of established models, as well. definitely need Carmen Kass. i always find Isabeli boring, actually -- but i realize that i'm essentially alone in this feeling, so i think it would be wise to have her on the show.

I dont understand what they see in her, you don't get more over the top than Selita. She brings essentially nothing to the show. Beautiful girl but model NOT.

1. As a huge Adriana fan, I am glad to hear that she will be center stage this year. But she better bring it, because I feel that she has been a little lackluster this year (specifically at FNO). I would enjoy a performance similar to 2003 but even better. (no ugly squinting, kissing, pointing or pointing at Usher the entire time)...just serve it up and spit it out.

2. I dunno if anyone agrees, but I also think Adriana's body in the last VSFS appearance in 2008, was the best I'd seen it since '03.

3. Must haves at the show (for me Shu Pei, Maryna, Joan (w/ a more glam/elegant/fun walk), Contance, and Flavia...Flavia closed a pink section, I think in 07, where she goes into a rotating chair w/ a puppy and my heart seriously skipped a beat, and last year Abbey killed the hell out of VSFS. Oh and I think I'd like to see Jourdan there as well...

4. outfits look promising this year...I hope they cast better than in the past.

Do you guys not know that all these girls are told to blow kisses, wave and point? Look at 2003, 2005 and prior. No one did it before then after that it became insane. Why? Because CBS brought in their own "director" you could say. Before Alex De Betak was in charge and it was great, but CBS didn't care for it. They took the show in a whole new direction because they felt the audience wasn't responding to a "normal" show. So they brought in singers on the stage while the girls walked, they told the girls to point at the cameras and blow kisses...be outrageous. They started wanting a different type of runway. CBS told VS to hype it up basically, or they could loose the show. So VS did, slowly but surly things started turning. So don't blame Adriana, Ale or any of the models for this. This is what they are told in production meetings (1-2 nights before the show) to do, and the more the better. If it was JUST Adriana doing it, or Ale or whomever you decide to pick on...why did they not do it prior to 2006...exactly. So before everyone points fingers at these models, you might want to point the finger at CBS and their demands.

Jourdan NEEDS to walk VS, girl had a baby and she looks amazing, amazing body and she has a fantastic walk, her over joan any day.....
i thought the casting was great last year, but it needed a few tweaks and as for Katy Perry, i would definatly preffered somebody else.....
The only reason i care for VS is for Rosie anyway, so beautiful, seeing Jourdan and some other faces would really make a difference

I don't because I thought she looked scary, but it could've just been the hideous tan. I just think she looks better with a little more weight on her. I hope she doesn't over do it this year.

That makes sense. I would imagine that the broadcasting of this show is absolutely essential to the marketing and the strength of the VS brand. First and foremost, this show must be entertaining to the general public. It must rate! Any decisions about casting, the styling, the theme, the instructions given to models, the shape of the runway etc.. will be made (and should be made) with that in mind.

I'm quite worried about this years show tbh. Last year, the VSFS lost a million viewers in 30 MINUTES. (mainly due to their CRAPPY reality inspired competition) Hopefully whoever produces/directs/puts together this years show won't resort to anything crazy to keep viewers interested and watching. It should really be to the point, without any crazy segues or anything.

2003 - the model casting was probably the most interesting thing they showed
2005 - gisele showing the catwalk, tyra talking about her career, the evolution of VSFS
2006 - behind the scenes of a commercial, the angles talking about themselves (boring)
2007 - THE HEIDI SHOW need i say more? the angle profiles were cute, but too long
2008 - the effort in making the show, the creative process, who is Victoria?
2009 - is dead to me

2010 must keep people entertained. hopefully they don't screw it up and show store openings or behind the scenes of Ed and Monica's life

But is that formula even working anymore? Their ratings were highest back in early 2000's and even 2005 had decent ratings. Hasn't it been downhill ever since then, cause I don't recall the viewership exceeding over 8 million or so since 2005. Shouldn't this be some sort of a clue for CBS that the kisses and the pointing are not working and they should just go back to how it was before. Another reason as to why the show has lost viewers might be due to the lack of supermodels like Naomi, Tyra and Gisele. I just don't understand what they are trying to do, its obviously not working so one would assume that they would change the direction of the show.

I really don't see what the big deal is about doing the VSFS. You would like models would be throwing themselves left and right to do it. Has Daria said that she is too good for VSFS verbatim? Or is this just a rumor?

No, she has never said this. It was rumored a while back (by the Imagist, I believe) that before she got her Lancome contract, two major companies were competing to sign her to a long-term contract. It was speculated one of them was VS (the discussion is somewhere in her thread). Anyway, Daria ended up getting a bigger contract because she had another company who also wanted her exclusive rights.

Models do VS because it pays big money and it's a lot of exposure. Daria already has both thanks to Lancome. Also, Daria doesn't like doing other duties of VS models, like give TV interviews. She told a reporter once that she envied Kate Moss, who never has to give interviews despite being Rimmel's spokesmodel. She doesn't want the extra exposure. She's not planning to do other entertaining gigs beyond modelling like acting, DJing, hosting, etc. But for girls who want to do this, they need exposure and VSFS is a great opportunity.

And this is just my pure speculation, but I don't think she wants to be known as a lingerie model or a 'sexygirl'. The press still refer to Gisele as "the former VS hottie" and I don't think she wants that. Also, Daria has never done Sports Illustrated (likely for the same reasons -- it just promotes her as a sexy-girl for you to pin-up).

I think it's partly because the show was still new back then. The first VSFS was 1998. And it was cool and exciting to see a fashion show, let alone beautiful women in lingerie. Nowadays you can just go online to stream a show or look at sexy pictures.
