Style.com's Top Ten New Faces - F/W 07.08

I have hopes for Jenny Sweeney i completely fell in love with this one. Somehow she reminds me of Helena Christensen which was my favorite in the 90´s.

^Yes indeed - Caroline Demarqui has been everywhere as well!

I agree with what style.com says completely - both that it's to early to say anything and that those are the biggest new girls up till now - but I feel they forgot Diana Moldovan, Carol Sippel and perhaps even Grieta Bastika!

OT: what's up with models.com? Their Top 10 of THIS season also has Agyness, Ekat and Lara...they're not new anymore

I was wondering about the same thing today - weird.

Oh Dale, I was just about to post something about that. Poor Models.com, how hard it must be to have 3/5 of your "Top Ten Faces" be on the list from last year. Way to play it safe and stupid at the same time.

The Style.com thing is interesting for me because it shows to some degree who they're pushing for. Which is good because they're adding hype for some of the girls that a lot of us have agreed are in contention at this point: i.e. Ali Michaels, Olga Sherer, and Veronika Antsipava. I agree though that I would have expected Diana Moldovan to at least have received some mention.

As for Caroline and Carolina I hadn't exactly noticed them so far, but I like their portfolios...guess they're right that its far too early to tell. Then again, that's why we have this thread, to continually analyize and guess who's in the running. I love this thread

There are always some girls who do well in NYC, but not as well in Europe, and other way around. Johanna, Irina K and Viviane are in the game now too after CK exclusives, and several new girls skipped NY. Also, always at least one or two new girls showing up from nowhere to book major shows in Paris. And of course we have to save a place on list for Prada opener... Will be exciting to follow!

Olga Sherer and Kasia Struss are doing very good in NYC....
I think Olga is one of those names you can guarentee will be on the list for opening Marc. Iekeline opened last year and got on the list (of course she had a great season overall)

^Yes indeed! And Olga has an amazing showlist for NYC herself this time around :woot:

I also got the feeling Olga will make it to the list and very likely she will be doing good also in Europe.

Eh, I don't even know half of the girls everyone is talking about. Well, 99% of them anyway. The only girls I'm rooting for as of now are Ali Michael, Laragh McCann, Jenny Sweeney, and maybe Won Kim if she does really well in Europe.

I think Alyona, Olga, Diana M, Johanna S, Georgia are very very good bets at this point

My 2 cents worth goes to Reid from IMG - she was hot for her first season in NY.

Out of the new group of Supreme girls i vote for Alyona for now - she looks amazing and i cant wait to see her stutting down european catwalks.

Top Ten new faces FW 07: Georgia Frost

Georgia Frost/ Marilyn (NY), Select (London) Ph. Lachlan Bailey For Japanese Vogue
When 13 year old Georgia Frost was discovered outside Camden Market in London, that particular Select scout certainly stumbled on a young girl who had a major future brewing. Cut to January 2007 and now at age 16 Ms Frost is in the eye of a booking hurricane as her show options are as selective as one could possibly imagine. That booking frenzy is courtesy of 4 campaigns for the S/S 07 season for brands like Dolce y Gabbana, Burberry, Alberta Feretti and Anna Molinari.
What renders Georgia even more coveted is the fact that she did no runway work in New York, Milan or Paris last season and therefore looms as one of the freshest faces in the runway mix. All this attention has this pefectly lovely English teenager unruffled a fact that makes her even more charming. We’ll be diligently tracking Georgia and all her cool looks in our upcoming Fashion Week coverage. Stay tuned!

Nothing's changed that much, other than moving a couple girls from my watch list to the hot list, and a few new names to the list...

Hot List :woot: :
Johanna Strickland, Georgia Frost, Diana Moldovan, Olga Sherer, Kasia Struss

Watch List B) :
Jourdan Dunn, Ali Michaels, Elsa Sylvan, Veronika Antsipava, Laragh McCann, Johanna Jonsson, Carolina Pantoliano, Viviane Orth, Zosia Prominska, Rachel Clark, Caroline Demarqui

I think Ali might be doing Marc by Marc...that would definitely get her out there!
