Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2011 - *Please see first post before posting*

Adriana's walk is great, but it does pale in comparison to Gisele's. But, they have two entirely different ways of opening the show. I for one wouldn't say Adriana's is the best walker they have, far from it but it's her star power, her name, and the way she interacts and her "pow" factor that make her a good opener. You have to have more than just a walk.

To address this again, those shows would never be aired on CBS now. They are to boring for the general public...CBS tells them a lot of what to do;production, how the girls act and etc. Most of the general public love these shows and would be bored to tears with the way they use to be. The show is not suppose to be a lingerie fashion show, it's suppose to be a SHOW about Victoria's Secret basically. Bottom line, VS isn't going to go back to that and CBS wouldn't air it if they did.

well then it sucks how much the general public has changed; for the worse in recent years lol...but not surprised when things such as Jersey Shore and that Kardashian show are such hits.

:lol: i just think less is more when it comes to this show. seriously we should all mass tweet vs & cbs while we're at it we can write letters and sign petitions. we need to be heard. the general public is obviously full of idiots.

With all the social networking sites & musical guests VS uses/has now to promote the show, I don't think ratings would be a problem if they still kept it classy. :p

nothingless i don't think you seen my last request, but i would love some of candice from getty if you could get them please!! :) if you did i'm sorry for bugging you. thank you in advance!

Rather than petitioning VS or CBS to change the VSFS, you'd be better off petitioning La Perla, Eres, Etam, Calvin Klein or some other lingerie retailer to do their own fashion show. Of course you will be watching it on the internet or on digital cable on Channel 756. ^_^

And speaking of CBS calling the shots, they're also the ones that put out there that Candice is opening. I doubt they're going to stray from that.

^ Yep Candice's opening has been part of the publicity so I agree that I don't think that's going to change. Looking at it from a television show perspective they want to capture the audience and then keep or grow the audience throughout the hour. Candice is pretty and she is walking to a song that was not mega-popular (at least I don't think it was?) but it is probably familiar to the demographic that they are trying to get to watch the show. My guess is that the show itself will start off either with the opening segment and then to credits and backstage activity where the audience will see the familiar faces like Adriana, Alessandra and Miranda, and of course the upcoming acts will be announced, so I think that Candice's star power will be supplemented by other stuff, the other alternative is that it will start with the credits and other stuff I mentioned and then go into the opening segment and then maybe a skit / featurette.

I AGREE!

@Couturechic
The general public like the way the show is now? if I didn't know about VS and someone told me to youtube it, I will prefer the previous shows than what I am seeing now, so us guys are ruled out.

as for the ladies, i have sisters and female friends who look at other girl's body shapes and stuff and i think women would prefer the previous shows too, as they show more flesh. also, you get to see why these models are actually models.

I dont agree, the previous shows were not boring at all!...maybe due to there being no performers back then that's why it may be referred to as boring.

I completely don't agree that the "general public" would find the older shows more boring. I mean having been reminded of the amazingness that was the 2003 opening (what with the awesome remix, Adriana opening, followed by Gisele, then KK, closing with Naomi and oh yeah Tyra was there too [honestly I could go on...]) it is mind-bogling how much this year's opening pales in comparison; I realize we haven't seen the edited version but come on how do you even begin to compare the too.
I suppose you could say CBS has asked VS to tone it down and basically rely on musical guests to pull in viewers. That still doesn't explain why the music sucks and why the energy VS exudes is now more cutesy than sexy. Sure PINK has become huge for them but does the whole show have to be watered-down? I certainly don't think so and kinda hope they revert to embodying their original ethos--being a desirable brand that women, not girls want to buy into

i liked Chanel's drunk walk, reminds me of Angela Lindvall

The wavy arms walk :lol:. Chanel didn't commit to it though and it looked sloppy. It pissed me off because she can walk her *** off but seems to feel the need to do this stupid 'wohoo, everyone get up' crap that Adriana (actually probably Selita) started years ago...ughh it's so annoying. And all the mouthing 'I love you' :sick: that some of the girls do.

It's kind of embarassing when you watch Gisele, Tyra and Naomi back at the show five+ years ago. Those were some of the strongest, most amazing walks I have ever seen. I wish they would come back and teach these girls a lesson or two. Hopefully Tanya 'murder a runway' Dziaheliva will be at the actual show next year as opposed to backstage.
