we all knew that would happen the second Karlie walked on that runway. they should have never done that outfit to begin with.

I really think bruno mars and possibly rhianna should have been the only performers. Bruno's new song is really upbeat and catchy and i think it will work well with the calendars segment possibly being the best segment of the show. The diamonds segment will be good cause I love the outfits. I think the justin beiber segment will be a big ol trainwreck

At this point it has to be an accepted fact that the VSFS has to have performers to stay competitive in the ratings, and I don't know who, other than One Direction, would've been more appropriate for Pink, than Justin Bieber.

I agree ^^ Bieber fits PINK pretty good.

I could have done without Rihanna - just because she was way too much all over the runway and between models, did not look good and I just dont like when performers mess up with models so much. It looks like a concert with models happening to quickly walk by then a fashion show... sad.

The set is too normal too, not sparkly and glittery (holiday-ish) enough...Same with make-up - too everyday looking.

The onlly good thing : some fierce models, some nice outfits and that's that.

The themes like "fairy tales", "flowers", "super angels", "vintage glamour" should be just left behind - theyve been recycling those way too often. There are SO many other cool things to play with besides those ! Its getting boring now with "circus" and "flowers" and "superwomen in boots" each year to the point that people recognize "same outfits ".

Models who kind of disappointed me a little bit (judging by pictures) : Magdalena (still like her but she did not look her best (2010 she was better), too pale, too light hair and shape-wise Id rather not tell), Hilary ( like her and thought she did well but just well, not really a standout like I hoped she would be), Bregje ( got lost and lost her "sparkle" too), Elsa.

Next time I can do without Cameron. Neither in backstage interviews nor on the runway does she make a good impression, let alone the looks. Ieva can stay home too.

Models who were great : Doutzen, Behati, Sui He, Lily D., Karlie to name a few. Oh and Barbara Fialho (especially in that swimsuit ! Totally refreshing. VS should consider having a swim segment ).

Erin was way too boring compared to last year. When you walk to the end of the runway and then put that "unnatural tortured smile" it never looks believable like you have fun, sorry.

Absence of Maryna was noticable. I missed her, Flavia and even Anja.

I think next year Im out of all this. It just got stale.

Not to end it on a sad note lol, in those raw videos I really enjoyed strong walks of some models (Karlie, Constance, Lily D....) - well done, girls !

And if you want to get all technical Rihanna closed the show not Toni. LOL! That was cute.

i feel like she also opened it. she was the first one on the runway.

I would've preferred One Direction performing for Pink or using their songs for a mix. Their vibe is a tad more suitable for Pink's college girls than JB imo. JB's performance was like he was doing a concert for his teen fans. Awkward on a lingerie fashion show. At least OD don't dance and could've stuck to a corner singing while the models walked the runway. But that is neither here nor there since JB is who they got It should've only been Rihanna and Bruno and at least half the segments with no performers. Three performers and five performances is overkill. I'm still excited to see the show though

I thought Dorothea in 2009 was the worst ever model casted in the vsfs history. but seriously judging the pics and that video, Jessica Hart was even worst. sorry for her fans, but the gap in her teeth makes her look horrendous

edit: plus, she's 28/29 years old. walking in pink makes no sense. looks old for it.

Yeah they will skip the november theme.
But I think VS has a responsibility because they're a big commercial brand. Tons of girls and women of all ages and beliefs watch the show throughout America and it's better to be on the safe side for the sake of business. They don't really have the luxury of being experimental like some fashion and independent brands.

There's a thread dedicated to culture representation in fashion (moderator--can you refer it?)--if you browse it, you can see various discussions on other cases and this is similar. Or you can look it up on google!

They knew exactly what they were doing with that outfit, it takes them months to put the show together, there must have been some thought into the publics reaction. And isn't it funny how Karlie was the one who wore it, as opposed to a girl with one outfit, which would have resulted in the girl being completely cut from the show or how it wasn't one of the better known Angels who wore it?! find it hard to believe that it was coincidence.

.....personally I'm more offended that Doutzen, one of the most beautiful women in the world, was dressed as a poodle...an actual poodle!!

Lily is gorgeous, I don't know why she gets so much flack. Fair enough her walk isn't great, but I'd take her personality over Ellingson's any day of the week!!

I been looking at videos of Lily to see what's so bad about her walk and I can't tell. Could someone point it out to me?

I think her walk in the flower segment will be ok, but imho she looks really akward in the Calendar girls segment.

To me she looks like she doesn't really know what to do and how to pose. In the fashonTV video (post #633) she makes some really weird movements with her arms and head.
Often her walk seems stiff or robotic instead of natural and flowing as if she's not really comfortable on the runway.
Maybe the outfit with the wings is just too much for her to handle.


I like Lily for every other part of the "Angel job" though. She's a good spokesperson and looks great in commercials etc.

I like Lily and agree that overall she handles her angel duties quite well. IMO her only bad walk on the VS runway was in last year's ballet segment, however her other walks worked because she injected personality in them, but there are technical issues with her walk like she leads with her shoulders and is not all that graceful.

Reading through some comments, I gotta agree that I don't know why VS loves Cameron Russell so much. I don't find her particularly beautiful, she's stiff on the runway (and looks like she's concentrating too hard), and I also thought her reluctance to dance "gangnam style" in that video was a little telling...hmmmm, a model who's about to parade in underwear doesn't want to dance because of a short robe?? All the others Doutzen, Ale, Barbara F and esp Shanina and Jasmine were having so much fun. Replace Cameron with Emily I say.

Also agree upthread about Jessica Hart - she's OK for VS catalogue, but she looked awkward on that runway in the photos and video I've seen. Perhaps wearing bicycle handlebars does that to a girl, but I really wish Sara Sampaio had been given a chance -she would have been cute.

You can't tell? I would help point out what's wrong with her walk but it's easier to point out what's right, and the only thing that's right is that she somehow gets to the end of the runway and back.
