Marisa isn't an Angel anymore and she didn't leave. They chose not to renew her contract. Good luck waiting for VS to confirm or make an official announcement. I think Marisa will most likely say something soon though because like some of you've said, she is very interactive with her fans.

IMHO Ale and Adriana (love 'em ) have been there too long now and their appeal is wearing thin. Adriana started in Fall of '99! Ale's been with VS since the summer of 2001! How long can you keep doing the same thing?

They can keep doing the same thing as long as it keeps working for them! If it ain't broke don't fix it, right? I doubt VS would keep any of the girls if they weren't selling their products, but I doubt Adriana and Ale even worry about their contracts upon renewal because they've got that senority. I think we're actually going to get a great group of girls this year though as long as Doutzen stays.

Wow so they've been there even longer than I thought. And you're right: as long as they keep moving product they're in.

That was most likely her first pictures to be posted. She shot the Spring 99' Cotton Commercial, and as we all know Spring is always shot in the fall of the previous year so she started in Fall of 98 and then the ones above were probably shot early 99 By the time that catalog came out she had already been working for them for a while and starred in her first fashion show for them (Valentine's Day 1999 )

If Adriana started working for VS in 98, 11-12 years ago, wasn`t she under-aged then? Or is she already on her 30s, excuse my ignorance I may have got something wrong since I tought VS demands to be 18.

They do now, she started when she was around 16. Isabeli started when she was 16 as well, it's only been recently they've demanded the age to be 18 for catalog and shows.

no I disagree about getting rid of adriana and alessandra (not that its up for an option). I think they are great, ale I find kind of annoying but she does serve her purpose. Adriana is arguably the one name that is synonymous with VS especially since gisele is gone. Its not even like she looks tired or washed out (a la tyra or heidi). Adri seems like she has many good years going for her to keep modeling, especially with VS.

I think my dream lineup would be Adriana, Alessandra, Emanuela, Doutzen, and Candice.

Miranda - I never understood the appeal and Rosie always looks so vulgar and like she is trying too hard to be sexy.

That's my dream line up too. And I agree with your entire post really. When people say that Adriana looks past her prime, I think this is the best she's looked in awhile. Personally, for me, she keeps getting better as she ages.

I agree with you all on the continued importance of Ale & Adriana to the VS image. But, if you notice, with each passing season there are fewer pages of Ale & Adriana in each catalog and more pages of other models. I imagine they have some sort of succession in mind (then again, maybe not.) It will be interesting to see what happens.
According to Wiki Adriana was born 12 June 1981. So she was 17 when she started with VS.

Adriana is re-signed for 5 years in 08, with a new beauty contract last year for 5 years which means she will renew her angel contract in 2012 for another 5. Ale and Adriana aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Both are in fact they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Both are guaranteed a spot until they want to leave, their contracts aren't in the danger of ever being cut.

I agree with you, too. In my opinion Adriana has just completely blossomed. Of course she was cute back then when she started, but she was a girl. Now she is a Woman. I believe the people, who thinks Adri has passed her best before date, are hc high fashion-fans where everything over 21 is starting to look old.

IMO Adriana will always stay with VS unless she decides to leave. Shes synonymous with the brand.. As for Ale , I'm not her biggest fan in terms of face wise but she probably will stay with VS as well much like Heidi etc.. the others are all kinda disposable unfortunately

I see Candice as a future angel for sure.. and Manu is PERFECT! I love her

What's to explain? I mean, I think it's pretty clear. Marisa isn't an Angel anymore. This was confirmed by Ale's agent who said that VS decided not to renew her contract which I didn't even think was up yet. Which goes to show you that these girls sign Angel contracts months before they're even introduced as one. Why VS couldn't just get one of the other girls is beyond me, but I really couldn't see like Miranda or Doutzen launching Love Rocks anyway and Ale seems like she had other plans. As weird as Taylor sounds doing something for VS, for this fragrance it makes sense. It was probably going to be Marisa and Taylor as a special guest. You know how VS likes to randomly throw a celeb in the launches sometimes.
