I know you don't mean this to be funny but this cracked me up. I am just imagining the emails going back and forth between the agents and the VS execs and then the agents and this Brazilian company to make sure that Adriana and Ale are not wearing lingerie.

The VS lineup is actually pretty good once you remove the 2 fillers and Chanel.

Doutzen, Miranda, Adriana, Ale and Candice is a pretty damn good lineup to me, though they should add someone like Joan Smalls, Lais Ribiero or Anai Mali and it would be amazing.

edit- I would add Rosie too, but I think she has moved on.

A. No Americans.
B. No models of color.

Lily has her first solo launch tomorrow in Toronto. That will leave Rosie and Doutzen as the models to never do a main solo store event for VS. You have to wonder why VS just does not use or expose Doutzen the way they did with their other models. You can't use her pregnancy as an excuse because even before they added all of the Americans and Candice, they did not focus on her a lot. She's pretty, but she sucks as an angel.

It's an American company. They've only just started expanding internationally. They had Tyra for the longest. After Tyra, they had a year gap where there was just Selita who was "Americanized," but shortly after that, they added Marisa. The American consumer is their core demographic, and I think they need an American model as part of their angel line-up.

People keep dissing Lily, Erin, and Chanel, but all three of them promote VS better than any of the angels that are older than them, and the angel line-up needed major refreshing. Those older models aren't going to be there forever. A seamless transition is for the better, and their target audience and consumer has gotten younger from when they first began promoting the angels as an entity. Chanel, in particular, was born to be an angel. You can tell that it's her dream, and (this current event aside) she radiates a true enthusiam for her new status. Lily is a California girl, and she is very natural with her promotion. She's the only one that I can actually see or believe wearing the VS products. Erin is the All-American blonde.

You have to start somewhere. You could have said the exact same thing about Candice before they sent her on her first solo launch. VS is promoting her to make her more known to the masses.

except for the fact that she is the fiance of one of the biggest bands out right now. that in itself generates attention for her. I mean, that is the sole reason people know who she is.

I can't even really go in on the VS promotion, because that was tacky as all hell
