Lily has her first solo launch tomorrow in Toronto. That will leave Rosie and Doutzen as the models to never do a main solo store event for VS. You have to wonder why VS just does not use or expose Doutzen the way they did with their other models. You can't use her pregnancy as an excuse because even before they added all of the Americans and Candice, they did not focus on her a lot. She's pretty, but she sucks as an angel.

can you imagine if brands only hired people from their contry. VS do not need to have a amarican model.

For A, they dont really need an American model. Their company is more synonymous with Brazilian models more so than anyone. Gisele was "the" face of VS before as now Adriana and Ale are. They sell lingerie on women, women that men want and women that other women want to be like, I dont think being "American" is a qualification for that job. Plus Marisa and Selita didnt exactly last very long. The models need to have an edge, an "it" quality about them, which currently neither of the two "American" models, Lily or Erin, have. If they do want American models to develop then there are far better models out there- Cameron Russell, Emily DiDonato, Karlie Kloss, etc.

I think the angels lineup of adriana,ale,doutzen,miranda and candice is great.and the other girls like lilly,channel and erin should be the pink girls give them their own commercials ,launches ,promtinons whatever but they should be seperated from the angels .

That's the beauty of opinions because I don't find ANY of those models appealing at all.

Chanel basically is the main pink girl. Erin did a lot of pink last year but hasn't done any this year, so maybe they have transitioned her (and Candice) out of that. The only place Lily's really done pink is the fashion show. I like her more for the main brand.

i'm really shocked Hilary has never been in consideration or even worked with VS. she seems like the most obvious choice for a VS angel spot if they ever needed another American.

Um, actually Marisa 'lasted' pretty long, about 7 years or so. Shes been doing VS for just about as long as Alessandra. But no matter how often it is said those who dislike her will still talk the opposite lol.

Um, Stephanie Seymour was THE face of VS long before Gisele. And needless to say, Steph is American.

For a perfect line up would be great to see 'a bit of everything'. Brazilian angel, American, may be a couple from Europe, 'one of color' and so on.

As for Hilary.

She did a bunch of swim pictures for VS and a couple of VS PINK as well. But that was it. And I asked her on her website whether she is going to work for VS again or not or if she would like to and she replied she enjoyed working with them and she is hoping to work again in the future.

May be it was her just 'polite' I dont know. She has it all for VS, obviously, so its either Hilary actually does NOT want to work for them or VS, well, does not like Hilary for them.

Ouch, I feel REALLY bad for Lily. I was right, she cannot handle a solo launch. Apparently almost nobody showed up to her meet and greet, and victoria's secret are begging people to come in and see her!

No one showing up to a launch is not the same as a model not being able to handle a launch. Either Lily does not have the name / face recognition or there is not a lot of interest and that is not a good thing, but judging by the pictures in her thread she kept her spirits up and that is a good thing.

Adriana and Alessandra always pull in huge crowds, so it's very easy for them to do Solo launches. The new girls just don't have the name yet. Candice does pretty well but that's pretty much it.

Chanel had a big crowd when she did her Valentine's launch in Toronto, but I agree with Lily not having the name yet. It probably should have just been a launch and not a launch/combo signing. You have to start somewhere though, and I still think it's a positive thing that she had a solo event.
