Then what's the point, this is what makes Victoria's Secret, Victoria's Secret! I don't like all of the winking and the pointing (actually I hate the pointing), but usually it is because that particular model can't pull it off **cough*Adriana Lima*cough**. To me this is no different than those high fashion models who can't walk, yet for whatever reason, book numerous blue chip shows.

I think in the earlier VS shows, what made VS a VS fashion show was simply a smile. And really that's all that's needed to separate it from the other shows (see the 2002 show, Tyra was the only one who pointed. everyone else did fine and it was still a great show). Everything else is over the top, it started going downhill with the 2006 show and onward.

^ Because it's not a simple fashion show anymore, it's an entertainment show. CBS would never go for a normal 'boring' catwalk show without all the VS extras. VS had to turn it into something bigger and more entertaining in order to reach the mainstream audience - and they succeeded, *because* of how over-the-top it is compared to normal fashion shows (which the vast majority of non-fashion people find to be dead boring). So the only way I can see them truly toning it down, is if it's no longer aired by CBS, or if they've found another angle to make it interesting for the mainstream...maybe more of a documentary style or something....but I still doubt it.

^Yeah, I agree. It hasn't been a simple fashion show in a really long time and the majority of people who tune in to watch it wouldn't do so if it were something as simple as that. People want the models winking, pointing, and looking like they're having the time of their lives. Personally, I think the shows are fine...it's what makes VS who they are and the more high fashion girls who participate in it get to have a little fun on the runway. It's not so bad!

Another thing is to wish she could be one but she is not yet. People can get confused the way you put it as if she is one

On a different note, I agree with nothingless - VS show is VS show, it aims the bigger audience that usually watch Fashion weeks and it has to have smth extra whether its blowing kisses or anything else. Actually all 90ies shows (compared to later) are truly boring.

and Aaron sweetheart, there are a lot of girls who shot for VS who didn't make it to the show.. so don't go crazy too soon, she isn't even in the catalogs yet

Now that it's held in Fashion Week, let's hope they will keep the show VS-ish instead of Fashion Week.. VSFS stands for fun and glamour.. the outfits&Models are gorgeous and having fun and the show itself is entertaining.. I hope it'll stay that way...

Exactly! I wouldnt care as much about the VSFS if it wasn't for its outrageous glamour , glitz and entertainment. That is what makes VSFS stand out. The reason why its so popular. ITS ENTERTAINMENT. Its supposed to be fun , relaxing and different from a regular/ quiet subdued high fashion show.

well, IMO, while all that waveing and pointing and sending kisses is annoying, you cannot sat its not fun,,,it gave us a lot to talk about, to laugh, to gossip, to trash,... when VSFS was just a show,they used the most gorgeous models (naomi, claudia, daniela, helena, karen, eva,...) but it wasnt fun...it past few yrs the show become tacky...so what? remember versace's shows in the 90's? they were all abit too much, but people still talk about them... i want to see (and belive me, i never thought i'd say this) pointing and everything else, they i want to b*tch about the girls, but also to admire them, the silly costumes, perfect bodies and adorable faces!!!
i hope they will cast ana bb, isabeli, julia, lara stone, lilly, stam, chanel iman, rhoda, trentini....

as for that fbook girl, i have no idea who she is, though she is cute, but where did u hear that she'll be on VSFS when the castings weren't held???

I hope the show will be the same but also the non-angels cast. Hope they won't use new HF-models.. like Lara Stone.. excellent HF-model but not entertaining enough for a VS-model.. but hey were in the middle of Fashion Week.. they might give it a shot with new models..

I think they may sway in the HF direction only cause its during FW... But I don't think it will completely lose its VSFS fun and flirty trade mark (hopefully)
