WOULD you like to meet Adriana Lima? The Victoria's Secret Angel will make an one-off appearance at the label's Bond Street store in December to wish shoppers a very happy Christmas.

A celebration of the festive season, the Brazilian supermodel will be on hand to meet and greet fans between 6pm and 8pm on December 12. Lima will be the first Angel to visit the British flagship, which opened earlier this year to much fanfare. Having been appointed an Angel in 2000, she is the brand's longest-serving model. The only beauty to match her number of Victoria's Secret catwalk appearances is Alessandra Ambrosio.

It's unfortunate that VS has stopped "making" its own stars and resorted to just casting the same girls from high fashion who go practically unnoticed by the general public. The Angels have become just as anonymous as the top high fashion girls with very few having any sort of name recognition with the general public. That Adriana Lima is still the most well-known Angel after a decade speaks volumes.

They need to completely overhaul their lineup, search for truly striking girls of various ethnicities, and make sure the women are actually endowed so they look soft, feminine and sexy on the runway. If you have to put 2-3 cutlets in a push-up bra to get cleavage the model is probably not a good fit for a lingerie show.

Victoria's Secret needs to focus.

They really need to edit the "Angel" lineup down to 5 models. And get rid of a lot of the dead weight!
Having 10-7 Angels at the same time is excessive and diminishes the exclusivity of being a contracted Angel.

They need to add a women of colour.

Bring back the mega Multi-Million dollar contracts and have P.R promote the hell out of it. The media will eat that news up and at the same time promote the Brand and Model.

I agree that Sui He would be a great angel. Her English seems pretty good, she'd just need a speech coach to improve her accent. I'd rather have Jourdan Dunn for an angel than Joan. She's so beautiful, plus she's more famous and has bigger breasts

Joan would make an amazing Angel, there's literally no aspect of her that isn't perfect!

Sui He on the other hand would never work as an Angel, granted she's solid in print and on the runway but put her on Good Morning America & ask her to sell a bra and it would be like watching a train wreck. Look what happened with De Paula back in '09.

I agree with this except about Toni Garn who I don't think is distinctive enough from the typical blonde model. If they insist on another White model at least get a redhead.

There used to be a clear difference between VS models and high fashion. VS models were inherently sexy. They were also clearly more curvy than high fashion models. We did not have to have their "sexiness" forced down our throats like they're trying to do with Karlie Kloss (who's a brilliant high fashion model but really is not a good fit for the VS lineup IMO).

They need striking beauties like Helena Christiansen and Adriana Lima who stand out from the typical model who is cast in high fashion for her "blank slate" ability to transform. A VS Angel should not be a blank slate.
