Vogue Italia September 2014 by Steven Meisel

Let's not look a gift horse in the mouth, this is a very nice gift.

Candice? Miranda? Really? I would like to see for example Małgosia Bela, Gemma Ward, Abbey Lee, Karmen, Magda Frąckowiak, Lily Donaldson, Kasia Struss, Frida and Anja Rubik. But I'm glad to see Sasha P, Sasha Luss, Natasha, Joan, Jessica and Jourdan.

Conclusion is the cast is a little bit random.

And it's so sad that Linda's face looks so strange...

shame cover isnt in colour but it is great just because of the cast :)

to me it seems that the cover is a compilation of Meisel´s favorites, past and present. Miranda, Candice & Issa all had covers on VI by Meisel so clearly he likes them enough to include them on this cover.

Candice and Miranda are one of VI and Meisel's favorites. And they both have been on the covers before. I mean I hope there are more models on the covers but I'll take this over so many other September issues.

Has all the editorial content been posted?

This issue it's iconic and remembered for life, I'm glad that Natasha Poly landed her first Vogue Italia cover, and the september issue.
I can't wait to see the video!!

VI is her(liuwen) first major vogue cover since her debut..
NO blue chip ever...
OMG...how she can be the top3 then New super..nobody notices that?very weird..
which makes me uncontrollably sense that her agency made a dirty trade privately with the assistant(s) of MDC..
can anyone know that WHY?

Estée Lauder was a massive contract, plus all the other work she has done, She paved the way for all the new big Asian models.

I like that the editorial has movement (even though the girls appear to be posed) - at least there's the effect of action, of their hair moving in the wind, of a sort of interaction among the girls in each shot. Almost any of the individual editorial shots could - or would - have made for a gorgeous cover shot (which I know is SUCH a typical thing to say here on TFS, but I actually think it is true here).

Totally agree; I love the fluidity and the sense of pace that Meisel managed to create in this editorial, so many gorgeous shots...this is also really understated for a CCdD styling job and I'm impressed!

I can see how many would find this boring but for me it's a straight-up winner because Meisel went for simplicity over uber-ambitious socio-political themes or half-baked ideas that trail off mid story.

Most of the imagery published in magazines today is truly banal and Meisel's cover stories for VI this year have elicited a massive yawn from me on most occasions but when confronted with something as direct as this I'm more than happy personally :).
