Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2011 - *Please see first post before posting*

Im rooting for Doutzen to get FB 2012 and/or open the show. I think its her turn.

I'd love it if Doutzen got the next Fantasy Bra. She'd look so beautiful in one. Although Alessandra also really deserves one by now, but I think Doutzen has a higher chance of leaving sooner, so I'd rather she get it before she leaves. They both should get one before they depart the company.

i LOVED this yrs show

i thought is was amazing but i still missed Karolina, Rosie, Isabeli and maybe even Selita a little bit:sad: i was annoyed my faves Emanuela & Anais only got 1 outfit Chanel wasn't as annoying with all that arm waving like she was landing a plane but girls like Karlie & Joan worked it out & killed it like i knew they would Shanina was a surprise cuz i literally gasped at how gorgeous she was but there were girls like Jessica Clarke who imo were completely useless, a waste of space & a good outfit speaking of outfits.. Anja's 2nd outfit was completely WRONG for that segment... i think they took that out of the leftover rejects pile from the "toy soldier" segment of 2005

they coulda raised the energy of the show with better tracks on their playlist & better performers cuz Kanye & Jay Z were completely WRONG

but you know, it was NOTHING compared to Nicki Minaj i love her, i'm a huge fan but she got on my nerves she looked like a weird troll/gnome person whos set ran too long & should've stayed in her designated performing area. she startled poor Erin & the other girls had to duck & dodge around her

anyone agree on or wanna add to what i'm saying???

i thought Jessica Clarke was beautiful and that it was a shame she was covered up, and barely shown. Her body is sick and her face and smile is gorgeous

and I dont know if we were watching the same PINK section, but Erin sticks her hand out to spin Nicki Minaj as well as pumps her up when she walks out

I don't see why you think that Anja's second outfit was wrong for the segment. I think it suits the Superhero theme and I don't see a big difference between Anja's and Adriana's or Shannan's outfit.

Or are you talking about the "I put a spell on you" outfit? I think that was good for the segment as well.

And I liked Nicki's performance. Sure she looked tiny next to the models but I like that little moment with Erin at the end of the runway.

I'm sorry I wasn't specific... I was talking about the outfit anja wore in the "I put a spell on you" segment. you can't say it went with the others which were lacy lingerie types and hers was more a costume type to me it look like a cross between Karolina's and Naomi's outfit from the 2005 "toy soldier" segment

As for nikki minaj, I love her but she was on the runway too much imo it looked like she took Erin by surprise.. To me it look like Erin turned around was startled to see nicki soo close but decided to just go with it

Overall, I really liked the show this year, but some things were just awful. This post may seem like I'm complaining about everything, but really I'm just expressing my opinion on EVERYTHING.

Models

Favourite Angels
Adriana Lima: I loved her Super Angels opening and her energy throughout the show.
Doutzen Kroes: I loved her I Put a Spell on You opening.
Alessandra Ambrosio: Amazing presence on the runway.
Behati Prinsloo: So much energy and so much fun to watch. Have no clue why she was only walking for PINK a couple of years ago. Why didn’t she close PINK?!

Favourite Non-Angels
Shanina Shaik, Anais Mali, Sui He, Liu Wen, Joan Smalls
Lais Ribieiro: Make her an Angel ASAP. One downer is her walk is quite slow.
Karmen Pedaru: Never knew how gorgeous she was until she smiled.
Izabel Goulart: I loved how she thumped that umbrella on the runway.
Ieva Laguna: Love the little dance she did in Club PINK.

Inbetween
Chanel Iman: I'm hot and cold with Chanel. She has great charisma, but sometimes I perceive her as a little fake.
Lily Aldridge: If I disregard her walk, I think she’s very relatable to and she has a lot of energy, especially in Club PINK. She’s a great spokesmodel too.
^ I don't want to see either Chanel or Lily leave soon. They should definitely stay.

Least Favourite Models
Miranda Kerr: I like Miranda, but she failed to make an impact.
Karlie Kloss: Close your legs and stop wiggling like a weirdo.
Anja Rubik: Anja can come back when she seeks help for something we can’t talk about.


Segments

Ballet
Dancers: Move those ballerinas out off the runway part of the stage! If I was seated and those ballerinas were standing in front of my view of Candice, I’d be so pissed.
Music: I love that the rock n roll music contrasted with the soft outfits.
Favourite outfits: Lais Ribeiro, Toni Garrn, Bregje Heinen.
Worst outfits: Miranda’s outfit would’ve looked much better without the red fabric swaddling it.

Super Angels
Music: I don’t like Kanye, but I think he interacted well with the models. He was so much better than Akon last year who just got in the way.
Favourite outfits: Adriana, Shannan Click, Izabel Goulart.
Worst outfits: Karlie Kloss.

Passion Play
Music: The music should’ve been more Spanish/Flamenco-inspired. Using Rihanna’s California King Bed was just so damn pointless.
Favourite outfits: Alessandra, Candice, Bregje Heinen, Flavia de Oliveira (minus the train) – these outfits looked so expensive!
Worst outfits: Doutzen (the ugly fabric and metal thing), Adriana (looked too much like her outfit in Tough Love of 2010)

Angels Aquatic
Music: Another music failure. Moves Like Jagger did not suit this segment whatsoever. Did they just choose Maroon 5 cos Anne V would be walking. Enough with the mushy mushy saccharine rubbish. This is a fashion show, not a soap opera.
Favourite outfits: Erin, Joan Smalls, Maryna Linchuk.
Worst outfits: Most of them were pretty spectacular.

I Put a Spell on You
Lighting: AMAZING lighting! Especially the dark lighting during the start for Doutzen/Ale's walks. I love how they blackened out the audience and the smokey stuff coming from where the models walk out.
Music: One Republic was alright. Something more mysterious and sultry would’ve been better
Favourite outfits: Candice, Adriana, Shanina Shaik, Karmen Pedaru, Lily Donaldson.
Worst outfits: Anja Rubik and Miranda (I don’t think the dark green with purple looked good), Cameron Russell, Izabel Goulart (ugly moving umbrellas).

Club PINK
Dancers: Move out of the audience’s way!
Music: Good, but Minaj needs to move out of the way. I hated her taking the attention off of Erin.
Outfits: Ieva Laguna, Behati, Lindsay Ellingson, Elsa Hosk, Lily A, and Chanel’s light-up boobs.
Worst outfits: Erin and CBN (get those jackets off), Jessica Clarke, Jac Jab, Karlie Kloss.

Jay-Z / Kanye performance
Lighting: Loved the lighting.
Music: LOVE Jay-Z...HATE Kanye. But they seemed like they had a good time together.


Other stuff

The editing and camera shots were so choppy choppy and they went overboard with the slow mo. If they’re going to use it, use it on footage of the girls when they are strutting, not posing.
All I'm going to say is: Thank you Lord for the wind machine!
I loved the segment where they showed the baby photos – especially Behati and Erin’s speaking roles.
I really loved the opening credits. They reminded me of the slow and sensual credits of 2005.
Loving Emanuela de Paula’s backstage dancing. LMAO!


Hair and makeup

I would’ve preferred the hair to be either poker straight a la 2001 or extremely va va voom a la 2005/2006. It fell flat on some girls.


Disappointments

The segment where the Angels were talking about other Angels was so boring. I truly don’t care if Erin is a nerd or if Adriana is a good boxer. I’d like to see a more about their careers with VS or maybe some backstage footage of commercials or other events the Angels have done this year.

I definitely noticed the absence of Karolina, Isabeli and Selita.
Why the hell did Flavia only get one outfit?!
The Fantasy Bra and its clam shell was too literal
Adriana’s Passion Play outfit looked too much like her Tough Love outfit in 2010. I don't think I would've noticed it so much if someone else wore it.
There was so much emphasis and attention on Miranda’s post-baby body, but pretty much nothing about Doutzen’s.
Maroon 5: BORING. And enough with VS trying to shove Adam/Anne down our throats.

Jessica Clarke: C’mon girl, you’re the first girl to represent NZ! She didn’t make an impact. Like someone else has said, she was a waste of space imo.
Anja Rubik: I didn’t like her for something we cannot speak of here. And also, her flailing arms in Super Angels was disastrous and her weird waving during Ballet.
Jacquelyn Jablonski : Dead eyes.
Lily Donaldson: Great last year, not so great this year.
Toni Garrn: Pretty girl, boring personality.
Candice: She just seems so bored whenever she’s interviewed and I perceive her attitude on the runway is “let’s just get this over with”.
Julia Stegner: Did it bother anyone else that Julia looked as though she had no eyebrows in Passion Play? I was glad Julia finally did a walk without her hands on hips.
Adriana: Does Adriana say a different year every time she’s asked which was her first show? But nonetheless, she was perfect.

Does VS always have to have a segment with blue-themed lighting every year?! 2010 – Heavenly Bodies; 2008 – Glamour Goddesses; 2007 – Blade Runner, Sureally Sexy; 2006 – Winter Wonderland. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. And besides, there actually isn't a lot of colours to choose from.
And I LOVED seeing Beyonce in the crowd. Especially during Jay-Z’s performance, dancing away with a huge baby bump!

I think Doutzen can pull an opening off. But she would need to channel herself circa 2005 vsfs to do it. She's been pretty inconsistent with her walk at the vsfs. 2008 she basically ran down the runway. But I do like how in one taping she gets all of the blowing kisses out of the way and in the next taping she tones it down.

^ I think her walk hasn't been that great cause I guess trying to be all sweet and friendly/blowing kisses/waving(encouraged by VS/CBS of course) probably interferes with doing the full power walk. Not to mention the music hasn't exactly been the best for the runway.

Loved Ieva's dance too. In the CBS pre-show interview, she said something about being the PINK dog and doing a doggie dance. It didn't make any sense until I watched the segment : yep it was a little spotty dog costume (complete with paws) that she was wearing. Takes skill to pull that off and not look ridiculous/feel self conscious - wonder how much practise she had to do in front of a mirror

And speaking of the pre show interview, Shanina did well with promoting the brand - she named the collection her bra was from, talked how gorgeous it was and how effective it was in giving her boobs. VS give her a proper job already!

They always have the girls comment on each other and instead of doing the baby pictures and the over obsessed shots of making the collection (wasn't that what the VS all access videos were for) I'd love for them to dedicate the time to the girls with a little longer segments. My personal idea that I would love to see is a day in the life with the girls walking through their routines in the morning, with their children, showing everyone what they are like when they AREN'T on the runway I think it might make them a little more relatable to some viewers

I think the last three outfits (Anja, Adriana and Miranda) of "I put a spell on you" look a little different from the rest especially because of the colors but I don't really mind.

In fact when I first saw Adriana's outfit I though it would have fit in las years tough love or this years passion segment.

2005 her walk in the first segment was amazing.

Doutzens walks are amazing, I think she maybe found it difficult to walk slowly in the 'I put a spell on you' segment because she is still walking pretty fast for that kind of music. She is naturally a fast walker.

I agree she should open the show next year I think Ale should get the fantasy bra though. When i look back at all the previous fantasy bra's i dont think Candice, Lindsay, and Chanel would be able to pull them off because they have a really small frames/faces and i think it would look painful to watch. If Lily had a good walk, then id be all for giving her the fantasy bra and id love to see Erin wearing it but not until after Alessandra and Doutzen

i completely agree!!! i don't care about which girls are what & what the girls think about each other (unless it was bitchy).. that whole time they were yapping about stuff they already talked about on previous shows, i was thinking they coulda put in another segment or something.. i like the idea of doing "a day in the life of.." or how the girls got started with VS or showing a bit more of casting process so we know who showed up..

seriously, next yr they should just leave the casting up to us they pick the angels, we submit then take a vote on which ones we like i'm convinced that if "American Idol" can do without any problems than it would be a cinch for us

god no nobody was talking about a what they did with kylie

in my fantasy, they would open a website about 3-6 months before the show, where they have a list of real, ESTABLISHED models they liked & we could submit/suggest a few they should really consider.. the website would show the complete casting, their names, measurements, them walking, some pics they sent in, everything.. and for about a month or two & they would open vote for US, they tally the votes & we don't get to know until either the week before or the day of the show when they start coming down the runway

so basically, they pick the the angels and WE pick the 10-20 girls who would be walking they pick the number of times the girl would be walking and the number of outfits that they get.. it was just a fantasy
