I'm gutted that Gigi won't be there. She's really great for VSFS and she's had such an unbelievably stellar year, it would be a great way to cap it off for her.

I feel so much worse for those Russian models, though! Gigi is the biggest model on the planet right now, she doesn't need the exposure of doing the VSFS. Sure, it's great for her - but it isn't going to take her career to the "next level" or anything... I mean, there is no "next level" for her. haha She's at the top already. But for these other models who are unable to go because of visa complications, this really could have been an opportunity for them to increase their bookings in a dramatic way.

EX-ACT-LY. 100% how I feel about this mess.

Ugh another segment full of crap and multicolored **** thrown on the models and trying to be ethiic... someone fire that lady with the streak on her hair, this has her stink written all over.

Exotic Traveler, Boho Psychedelic, The Road Ahead, Nomadic Adventure... I'm sure we can mix all the looks from those segments and maybe create a single one with somewhat decent outfits. Let me guess the theme for next year... Gypsy Expedition, Rover Pioneer...

^ wow... are they serious with that outfit? so this is officially the ‘african’ inspired segment? if bs actually decides to have candice open this segment whether it’s the first one or not to welcome her back, who can only claim an african identity because of the pillaging and murder of countless africans over centuries, they could find themselves in the middle of the biggest pr disaster they’ve ever faced. i mean, who really thought in today’s socio-political climate that this is in anyway shape or form a good idea. wow. and black americans/africans aren’t like asians who had nothing to say last year with that garbage opening segment. they see candice in this garb (and find the pictures of candice in those hideous ‘dreadlocks’ at burning man) and black twitter will have a hashtag dragging bs up in 5 mins.

and that will just be the start. then you’ll have multiple press outlets on their performative wokeness tip chiming in as well... we may see firings. vs, i mean bs, better hope they’ve become so irrelevant that no one cares and they dont bother to get upset. i doubt that’ll be the case though. t-minus 3 days before disaster strikes?

And I agree. This segment is so incredibly repetitive. Can VS stop for the love of all good with these tacky rainbow cutesy "diverse africa inspired segment with huge feather wings" segments at the beginning of every show? Goodness. 3 years in a row PLUS Exotic Traveler... eeek. (BTW, putting random models in cultural outfits that dont correspond with their own cultures in any way shape or form and trying to get away with it isnt going to work. Didnt work in 2012, wont work now. They better not try it this year...)

NEW MAKING OF VIDEO: FITTINGS


We know Taylor will be in Nomadic Adventure and Goddesses.

Adrianas boots that shes wearing with her outfit is Enikos from Exotic Traveler... YIKES. And then of course the whole outfit resembles Marias in The Road Ahead.

Mayowa is the only model that hasnt posted a thing about Shanghai now... but she still isnt confirmed to not go.

I don’t believe Nomadic Adventure is strictly African based. Elsa’s SO is also in that segment, and people were pointing out that the wings look inspired by the dragons used in Chinese dances.
So far it looks like a giant mishmash of a bunch of cultures. :/

Nomadic Adventures is the first segment, and I’m thinking Candice will open.

There is a photo op on the morning of the 18th(which is already today in Shanghai) and Mayowa hasn’t posted a thing so I don’t think she’s making the show.

This article says its Alessandras last year for VS, but its just a rumor.

She's been leaving according to "sources" every year since like 2010 or so... I won't believe it until her name is out of the press releases as an Angel or she confirms it herself.

I wouldn't mind if she stepped out though, she's gotten everything from VS that one could possibly hope for and milked and worked her contract like no other.

It’s not good that all the publicity for the show has been about the fiasco with the Chinese government. You don’t have to be well informed to know that the Chinese government is incredibly strict about everything. They censor bodies and music etc etc. It is just different, politically and culturally...they need to respect that. VS is a huge American corporation, it doesn’t look like they did research on anything.

It looks bad since VS is going to China because the company is not doing well and they’re desperate. Their sales are getting lower and lower each year. And this very market with so much money has such strict gates. Whoever is up there at VS making the shots needs to reanalyze their ego if they think they can break into China.
