Back in 2011, Vogue Hommes International published an interview with Givenchy's creative director in their S/S issue, where he dished about his best sexual encounter.

Without revealing his name, Tisci told the mag:

"I have several but the one I think immediately is an experience I had with a man who is known. I never imagined that something could happen between us and it’s still the hottest weekend of my life. Nobody really knows if this guy is straight or gay, it is a mystery. However, I was attracted to him, his way of speaking, thinking, walking, dressing. I love what he does as an artist. Simons marvels at the speed of things. "I'm very scared sometimes that fashion might attack its own magic by the amount of exposure," he says. "Is this normal, the speed of fashion? They say there are too many shows, but the nature of fashion is to have it exposed in that moment of ecstasy.

"In the '90s, when a designer showed something, you had the patience to wait until it was in the stores," he continues. "That had a lot of romance and mystique to it. If you want something and you have to wait for it, you enjoy it, probably, longer. If it's just thrown at you the moment you like it, how much are you going to still desire it?"

It's the same with love, Simons muses. "These days, people's perceptions of relationships are very different from 50 years ago. I come from a love nest. My parents—it's just such a love nest. I see a lot of the younger generation switching—whether it's love or a job—not having the patience. Lots of people want to change their reality when they don't see the reality as perfection."

I am about to watch Raf Simons consume a pack of cigarettes in two and a half hours. ‘I started smoking when I split up from Veronique… I had a broken heart,’ he explains of his former girlfriend, the Belgian designer Veronique Branquinho, who he dated for five years at the beginning of his career. This is quite a confession – not the loss of a love that caused him to smoke like a chimney but the fact the love is a ‘she’. It’s not often one gets to meet a heterosexual fashion designer, or at least one who will admit to it. Although later when I ask him to clarify – ‘Does he have a girlfriend at the moment, or a boyfriend, maybe?’ – he just blushes and swerves the question with a ‘Noo no, no, noooo.’

Yes, he was romantically involved for 5 years with Véronique Branquinho. I think he's heterosexual but I don't know for sure:

An American writer I know in Paris, a married man, insisted that Simons was gay on the basis of a firm hug that Simons had once given him after a show, while a woman who has known him many years said with an assured smile, when I returned from Antwerp in May, ''He's complicated, isn't he?''

So I would like to be the first one to share with you all the news... Me and Marc have decided not carry on with our relationship as boyfriends... The distance and lack of time because of work schedules aren't really something realistic, and he's such a beautiful and amazing person, that I think he deserve a bf who will stay at least in one of the cities that he leaves in... Also, I need that too... We love each other very much, and that it was a decision from both!!!!
