Project Runway Season 5

It was a good challenge, but my god what a bunch of crappy results. It wasn't even the execution of things, but the designs.

The only ones that I liked were:

Kenley's - with the exception of the color, it was so chic. Not to mention that the fit was perfect.

Terri's - I'm shocked she wasn't called out for the top three.

Suede's - I liked the weaving at the top, but he also used that hideous satin. I also think it would've been so much cuter without the tulle petticoat (but seriously, the boy needs to NOT refer to himself in the first person. It's only two episodes into the season and that s*** has worn thinner than Christian's "fierce")

Korto's - she was so onto something. If she had chopped off those two fins on the thighs and lengthened the skirt to right above the knee it would've been pretty fantastic.

The majority of the dresses looked not just predictable, mundane and in some cases tacky, but downright CHEAP. Forever21 should be shaking cause most of these designers could easily steal their customers.

Poor Wesley, his dress was ugly and he had zero tv personality. I'm sure the producers were glad to get rid of him. I like the winning dress, very low rent McQueen(again), but will see how it translates to Bluefly.

They seem to be knocking off all the contestants who had potential...or at least who I wanted to see stay and do better.

Korto's was the best...i have no idea why the judges were all repulsed...hers was the most innovative and forward thinking! I agree, Spike, about cutting off the fins, but the rest was perfect!

Natalie looked really beautiful...but she is so tiny, it kind of freaks me out.

The judges have really lost their taste. That last dress was disgusting I don`t understand why the other girl didn`t win. I mean honestly who`s going to buy that ugly red & gold dress on bluefly? It looks to me that this season has a lot of really bad designers and really good designers, no one in between

Brokenenglish would have loved Suede's dress if it had been done in another fabric and colour scheme.



Team Ugly Brown Fabric had me cracking up....
as well as Blayne talking about his lethaaa family.

I love Kelli (and her dress from Ep 01) and I literally fell of my chair when I found out that I already knew her creations through ebay:

I can see why many people don't like her style but what she does she does very well

I cant belive so many people think this group is boring?

I loved the first episode and thought this is such a dynamic cool group of contenders.

I thought the woman with the garbage bag dress should have left, she annoys me, and that Leanne girl?OMG could she tallk any slower?I just want to pass out listening to her.

I felt bad Wesley was eliminated i thought he was interesting and had a cool calm demeanor and nice style, would love to have him still on and see what he is capable of.

And the dress that won?I liked it, but if it was better done and with different neckline.

My opinions:
Blayne needs to go. His designs are so tacky.
Daniels dress was kind of cute, and his last design was pretty creative
Emelies dress was way too short, but I liked the top part.
Jerells was just pure tacky, the cut was
I thought Jennifers dress was cute and flowy, and the colours were pretty.
Joe's dress was really bad, the cut was ugly and the seam looked horrible.
Keith's dress was too short, and too 14 year old girl going to a school event.
Kelli's design wasn't all that bad, but it wasn't great either.
Kenley's dress should've won IMO, the neck was a great detail to the simple but yet chic dress, the two seams in the front are lovely and the belt was a great touch.
Korto's dress was horrid, the outside-in seaming was an awful idea.
I agree with the judges that Leanne's dress was just too much and it wasn't a nice sight.
Stellas dress was really pretty, I just don't like the one sleeve idea.
The winning design was bad, the skirt part was just It would've been better if it would've been tight all the way.
Terri's dress was pretty, but the seam at the bottom didn't look too good.
Wesley shouldn't have been eliminated, the pleating on the sides were a nice touch IMO, and he didn't pick the fabric, etc. He seemed like a designer with alot of potential.

I would much rather have Wesley, who despite the fact that he clearly didn't know how to work with satin seemed like he has potential as a designer not a character, then all of the wannabe Sirianos. And as far as the sloppiness goes, it wasn't that much worse than a lot of the other crap paraded down that runway last night. Clearly there were some people who chopped off their hems without actually measuring.

So far this season seems dedicated to entertainment, and it's not even good entertainment, it's lowbrow and obnoxious.

And trust me when I say this, you don't need a bunch of trendy idiots with catchphrases and affectations to make fashion entertaining. By nature designers are entertaining people cause they're crazy in some way or another, there is so much potential for drama and entertainment even with serious designers.

BTW, I still can't get over the fact that Stella's dress was called out for the top 3. Maybe the judges were hoodwinked, compared to the garbage dress it looked like an actual garment so they were impressed....that's the only conclusion I can come up with. I mean come on, color it hot pink and put it on Amanda Lepore and you've got Heatherette.

....I like Stella....I mean, I'm not sold on her designs yet, but I think her personality is hilarious. "Blayne, what does he know, he's 12 years old?" I love her monotone, New York accent.

So far my favorite designer is Korto...she's done some great stuff. That seams on the outside dress was stunning (minus the fins in the bottom of the back)...plus, she's one of the few designers in all of PR history who is not only a good designer but a good runway stylist, too. I mean, on her last dress...the model's hair and the African necklace and the shoes were all so great looking.
