Project Runway Season 6

I have to agree that he does look like Perez, that's what I though when I first saw him lol

My mom and I were so sure Mitchell would go home over Melvin. Mitchell has not only be second to last for, well, every episode, so far, (which granted is only two, but still), he doesn't seem to display the best sewing skills, he has yet to be able to put anything out on the runway that looks truly finished. Well, he's already had two second chances...if he does poorly next challenge, the judges really ought to eliminate him!

Yes, Melvin went slightly to abstract with his design, and no, it didn't look attractive, but at least he can sew...it's easy to tone down, then to step up (like Mitchell needs to do).

Anyway...I must say the models mostly looked terribly awkward pregnant...it's just that they're quite lanky and slim, and those fake bellies just looked like they'd stuck a big bouncy ball under their shirts...it didn't look natural, whatsoever! :ninja: :innocent:

And some of the bellies were bouncing as they walked

What day is PR on in the US? I need to know when to download it next & watch it before coming in to the thread... I don't want spoilers!

Yeah, their bellies were distracting me from the clothes!

And it comes on Thursdays, in the U.S. :flower:

Part of Malvin's problem was that no woman wants to be compared to a chicken or be thought of as nothing but an incubator. If he had come up with a less abrasive concept or a different way to explain it, he might still be there. The fact that Tim Gunn actually had to tell him that making jodhpurs to accentuate the thighs and then describing them as "chicken thighs" (!!!) was a bad idea tells me that Malvin was in the wrong competition. This is not the venue for an artist who works in the medium of clothes; Project Runway is for a designer who designs clothes for people to wear.

The outfit would also have been vastly improved by using a thinner material like silk for the sling. The sackcloth material was just... no. No, no, NO. Bottom line, this challenge was to make a dress that Rebecca Romijn would wear, and while Malvin's execution was better, he failed at meeting the challenge's most basic requirement.

Has anyone else watched the extended judging videos on Lifetime's site? I love watching Nina Garcia flip out.

I'm still working my way through all of the videos, but I've seen two so far.

She doesn't exactly flip out in this one, but I love the way Michael Kors and Heidi react during her rant. I can just picture a little thought bubble over Michael's head at 1:19 that says, "Oh, Ari, honey. No."

And also Mitchell's from the second episode. I really wish they'd shown this one on TV. Poor Mitchell looks terrified:

I'd kill for an entire episode of nothing but Nina yelling at people while Michael Kors and Heidi Klum crack up in the background.:lol:

Talking about Michael, it's a little disappointing he's not there this week. I always waiting for his comment

I love how this season has been star-studded so far. Linsday Lohan and Rebecca Romijn!

SPOILER SPOILER Don't read if you haven't seen this last episode

SPOILER

So I definitely don't think the person who won deserved to win. I think the only reason he did win was because he supposedly did all the work himself. Honestly, I don't even think his two looks were even deserving of being in the top. Irina/Johnny team should've won. Logan/Chris team should've been the other pair. Or Althea's team. As for the person eliminated. I have nothing against him being eliminated. Should've been a long time ago. With that said, Qristel (sp) should be eliminated ASAP. She not only is a bad designer, she also lacks the taste level necessary for this. I actually hoped both her and Epperson would be eliminated.

I liked the neoprene dress but I wasn't a big fan of that long one they did. It was pretty, but kinda run-of-the-mill. Qristal and Epperson were an AWFUL pair. I hated listening to them squabble the whole episode!

what was up with that episode. the 3 teams sent back first were far better than the ones that were the "top." the winner was bogus, and totally kept mitchell for drama lol just so heidi can say three strikes and you're out! there's something about this season that irks me.. maybe its the increase of advertising on the show compared to other seasons..

Usually by now I would like a designer but I don't. I don't know this season seems very lackluster. As for the eliminated person he stayed way too long.

Irina and Johnny had a cute, beach-y "regular" look. The back of that outfit was perfect.

I didn't mind Ra'mon winning. The neoprene dress was ugly, but it was also pretty much the only avant garde thing up there. Seriously, all the PR contestants should have "BIG COLLAR =/= AVANT GARDE" tattooed on their foreheads before they begin the competition. And even if Ra'mon's dress wasn't the only avant garde thing on the runway, it was most definitely the only avant garde dress that had anything to do with surfing, which was pretty much the whole point of the challenge. Follow directions, designers!

Whatever, this episode sucked, though I did enjoy Heidi bitchslapping Mitchell. But Rachel Bilson was totally useless, and Epperson's tone when speaking to Qristyl was getting on my nerves. And where was Michael Kors? Did he have a horrible tanning accident? If they're going to bring in Max Azria as a replacement, they could at least spray tan him first so that at least he's the right color. :(

[/cranky]

ETA: The one good part of the episode was that Heidi's dress during the judging was beautiful. Does anyone know who makes it?
