lots of them are beautiful, but i do feel like VS lost a bit of its prestige this year. as someone earlier already said, VS claims to be the "Superbowl" of fashion shows, but where are the top players in the industry? most of them are absent.

I think that it is premature to declare that the show has lost prestige when it hasn't even aired yet. The musical acts haven't even been announced, we don't know themes nor have we seen the costumes. Maybe the show will be awful this year, maybe it will be great or somewhere in between, and casting is critical to its success, but I personally don't see the correlation between casting girls from the MDC 50 to the show being a success.

The VSFS, like the Super Bowl, is for the masses, but at least with the Super Bowl the viewing audience knows who Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are to miss them if their teams don't go to the Super Bowl, only a few hard-core fashion followers will miss the likes of Lexi Boling, Malaika Firth, Anna Ewers or Magdalena Frackowiak (one of my VS faves) because they are not known to the general public. The only model whose absence IMO is noteworthy is Cara Delevigne.

Another thing to take into consideration is that VS is itself a tastemaker, of course over the years they have used models who were already established fashion faces, but VS has also put models on the map or significantly elevated them.

I'm taking that post as confirmation because Ping both tagged and hashtagged Ed and VS, they weren't shooting anything today (Sharam and Malaika already posted pictures from the catalouge sets today), Ed wouldn't have been at a shoot anyways, and both girls have the big curls and full make up that all the girls from fittings have had so far.

Weird. I know VS has been telling certain girls not to say anything until a certain date (ie Sara S said she had to keep it a secret), so maybe she wasn't supposed to post anything.
I really hope they're both still in. Ping's body (and face!) is amazing, and I've always loved Erin.

With this many models, I'm curious as to how far the designers can stretch their creativity with the outfits. I'm sure many of them will be duds.
